Iggy Azalea’s MOTHER is a Solana meme coin reported to have launched through Pump.fun in May 2024. “Dubious” is a judgment, not an established finding: reporting, Azalea’s statements about the project, allegations in a 2026 complaint and official legal determinations are different kinds of evidence. The available sources do not establish that a court found wrongdoing, or verify MOTHER’s current price, liquidity or utility.
What is Iggy Azalea’s MOTHER coin?
MOTHER is the name of a Solana-based meme coin associated in launch-era reporting with Australian rapper Iggy Azalea. Decrypt reported that it launched through Pump.fun in May 2024. That reporting does not independently establish the token’s contract address, creator wallet or present distribution, so the name alone is not enough to verify a token’s identity.

Pump.fun is the launch platform identified in the reporting; its name is not evidence that a token is fraudulent. For a specific asset, identity should be checked against a reliable contract address rather than inferred from a celebrity association or ticker.
Is MOTHER the same token as IGGY?
No. Decrypt’s June 2024 report discusses MOTHER separately from IGGY, a token associated with promoter Sahil Arora that Azalea disavowed. Do not treat the two as the same asset or infer that Arora created MOTHER. The available reporting does not independently verify MOTHER’s contract address, so any on-chain comparison requires a confirmed address.

What did Azalea say she intended to do with MOTHER?
In an interview covered by CoinDesk on July 17, 2024, Azalea discussed how the project began and described plans to make MOTHER a continuing project after a substantial fall from its reported peak. Those are historical statements about her intentions at that time—not verification that promised features were delivered, that the token has utility now, or that the project remains active.
What does the MOTHER token lawsuit allege?
Burwick Law, plaintiffs’ counsel, says a class action complaint was filed in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York on May 4, 2026, under the name Kolbrak v. Kelly. The firm summarizes the complaint as alleging that MOTHER was promoted with utility claims and undisclosed insider allocations. These are allegations by plaintiffs, not established facts or a court’s conclusions.

The available material does not establish the current docket status, whether a class has been certified, how the case was resolved, or whether any defendant is liable. A law firm’s case summary can describe what plaintiffs claim; it cannot substitute for a judicial ruling.
Has a regulator or court found that MOTHER is a scam or a security?
The cited material establishes no court finding that Azalea or MOTHER committed fraud, and it does not determine whether MOTHER is a security. The SEC Division of Corporation Finance’s February 27, 2025 staff statement describes meme coins generally as typically driven by demand and speculation, often with limited or no functionality. It gives the staff’s view that transactions in the kinds of meme coins it describes do not involve securities offerings under federal securities laws, but expressly does not decide the status of any particular token.

“This statement, like all staff statements, has no legal force or effect: it does not alter or amend applicable law, and it creates no new or additional obligations for any person.”
The SEC staff also says its analysis does not cover offerings inconsistent with its description and that each transaction’s economic realities matter. It warns generally that fraudulent conduct connected with meme-coin offerings may be subject to enforcement or prosecution under other federal or state laws. That warning is not a finding about MOTHER or Azalea.

The evidence supports a careful distinction between what was reported at launch, what Azalea said she planned, what plaintiffs’ counsel says the complaint alleges, and what a regulator or court has determined. None of those categories, on its own, establishes MOTHER’s current market condition or whether it suits anyone’s finances.
Quick Recap
Best Value
- Token identity: Confirm the contract address from a dependable source before assuming a coin bearing the MOTHER name is the one discussed in reporting.
- Project claims: Treat statements about future utility as claims or intentions unless there is evidence that a feature was delivered and is usable.
- Legal claims: Distinguish the complaint’s allegations from findings, and consult the court docket for procedural updates.
- Market figures: No reliable current price, market capitalization, liquidity, holder concentration or supply is established by the sources cited here. A meaningful comparison needs timestamped figures, the metric and currency, and a verified token identity.
