What this box-office ranking does—and doesn’t—measure
Worldwide gross, not domestic gross
The figures are worldwide theatrical grosses, not U.S. or domestic-only totals. Box Office Mojo’s Ice Age franchise page lists domestic lifetime grosses as a separate measure, so a domestic ranking may differ.

Gross receipts, not profit or audience size
A reported box-office gross is not studio profit: it does not account for costs or how ticket revenue is divided. Nor does this nominal-dollar ranking adjust for inflation or compare ticket sales, so it should not be read as a measure of which film was most profitable, most watched, or strongest in real-dollar terms. Totals may differ across databases and can change with re-releases or later corrections.
Why the ranking has five films
The list includes theatrical features with reported worldwide totals in The Numbers’ table. It excludes The Ice Age Adventures of Buck Wild and television specials because that table does not provide comparable worldwide theatrical totals for them. The official Ice Age site lists Ice Age: Boiling Point as upcoming, with an in-theaters date of February 5, 2027; it has no completed box-office gross to rank, and release dates may change.
