Application dates: this recruitment is closed
The notice specified an online application period from June 2, 2025, at 10:00 through June 16, 2025, at 17:00. Those dates have passed. Although ISRO’s recruitment listing still displays “Open,” that status conflicts with the deadline in the notice and does not establish that applications remain available. The ISRO listing confirms the advertisement and deadline; use official VSSC or ISRO careers pages to check for subsequent updates or fresh vacancies.

Fitter and Welder eligibility
For either of these Technician-B trades, applicants had to have passed SSLC/SSC/10th Class and hold an ITI/NTC/NAC qualification in the matching trade: Fitter for the Fitter post and Welder for the Welder post. The required qualification had to be held by the closing date, June 16, 2025. These requirements apply to the named trades; other posts had different trade or diploma requirements.
Age and category conditions
For Technician-B posts, the notice set an age range of 18–35 years as of June 16, 2025. It provided five years’ upper-age relaxation for SC/ST candidates and three years for OBC candidates against reserved posts; other relaxations could apply under relevant government orders. Applicants had to meet the notice’s category-certificate rules, including its requirements for current-format OBC non-creamy-layer documentation and EWS documentation valid for financial year 2025–26. Only Indian nationals could apply.

Government employees and certain employees of public-sector or autonomous bodies were required to provide a no-objection certificate at the skill test. Consult the original notice for the complete eligibility and documentation conditions.
Pay and posting conditions
For Technician-B, VSSC specified Pay Level 03, with a pay range of ₹21,700–₹69,100, and estimated gross emoluments of ₹37,000 per month. The notice described the posts as temporary but likely to continue. Selected candidates could be posted to any ISRO or Department of Space unit in India as required.

How the selection process worked
Written test
The first stage was a curriculum-based written test with 80 multiple-choice questions and a duration of 90 minutes. Correct answers earned one mark; each wrong answer attracted a deduction of 0.33 mark. The qualifying threshold was 32 out of 80 for UR and EWS candidates and 24 out of 80 for other reserved categories where applicable.
Qualifying skill test and final empanelment
Candidates who progressed took a skill test, which was qualifying only. The minimum qualifying score was 50 out of 100 for UR candidates and 40 out of 100 for reserved categories. Among those who qualified in the skill test, final empanelment was based on written-test marks; marks in the notified qualification were used to break ties. The notice did not give a written-test date, stating that it would be announced on the VSSC website.

Historical application fee and process
The notice required an initial application fee of ₹500, payable online through SBI ePay by card, internet banking or UPI. Refunds depended on category and attendance at the written test: female, SC, ST, ex-servicemen and PwBD candidates who appeared were eligible for a full refund; other candidates who appeared could receive ₹400 back after applicable bank charges. These were terms of the closed 2025 recruitment, not a reason to make a payment now.
At the time, applications were to be submitted online, and applicants were told to monitor email and the VSSC website for communications. The notice said supporting documents did not need to be sent by post.
