Heathrow Fast Track may be worth paying for if you value a dedicated priority lane, especially during a busy period. It is not a guaranteed time saving: Heathrow says it cannot guarantee a maximum or minimum queue length or time. As displayed by Heathrow on 8 October 2026, departure access starts at £12.99 per person; arrivals access costs £25 off-peak and from £35 at peak. Check first whether your airline, cabin, frequent-flyer status or eligible card already includes access.
What does Heathrow Fast Track cover?
These are two separate services, for different stages of a journey:
- Departures Fast Track: access to a dedicated priority lane for security after check-in. The same security procedures and regulations apply to all departing passengers; Fast Track does not change screening requirements. Heathrow’s departures Fast Track information.
- Arrivals Fast Track: priority access at passport control after landing. Heathrow’s arrivals Fast Track information.
Heathrow says Fast Track is not currently available to connecting passengers. A booking gives access to the relevant priority lane, not a different security or border-control decision.
How much does Heathrow Fast Track cost?
These are the prices Heathrow displayed on its service pages on 8 October 2026. They are per person and may change, so confirm the price and availability for your terminal and travel date before booking.

| Service | Price displayed by Heathrow | What affects the price |
|---|---|---|
| Departures Fast Track | From £12.99 per person | The displayed figure is a starting price; check the booking page for your journey. |
| Arrivals Fast Track | £25 per person off-peak; from £35 per person at peak | Peak pricing varies by time and terminal. |
The departure price is not an estimate of the value of minutes saved: Heathrow does not publish a guaranteed time saving. The price buys priority-lane access.
Does Fast Track save enough time to be worth paying for?
It can be worthwhile if having a priority lane matters to you and the price fits your budget. The practical value depends on how busy the relevant checkpoint is when you arrive, how much you mind waiting, and whether the per-person charge is worth that convenience to you. Heathrow does not promise a particular queue length or wait time, so no fixed number of minutes saved can be responsibly attached to the purchase.

- Consider skipping it if the cost matters more than access to a dedicated lane, you are willing to use the standard queue, or you already qualify through another benefit.
For arrivals, make the decision separately from departures: you are paying for passport-control access after landing, and the arrivals price has off-peak and peak rates.
Check whether your ticket or status already includes access
Before buying, check your airline’s rules and your booking confirmation. Heathrow lists some premium-cabin passengers, top-tier frequent flyers and American Express Centurion cardholders among groups that may be eligible for Fast Track, but eligibility is subject to airline-specific rules. Do not assume that any premium ticket, loyalty tier or card automatically qualifies. Check Heathrow’s Fast Track eligibility information.
