Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesNintendo Switch 2 launched on June 5, 2025, so the useful question now is how to monitor ongoing availability—not whether a launch-window preorder is open. Start with Nintendo’s official retail offers page, then follow through on the exact retailer listing. An alert can tell you to check; it does not reserve a console or guarantee you can buy one.
Start with Nintendo’s official offers page
Nintendo’s US retail offers page lists participating retailers and current offers, including the Nintendo Switch 2 + Mario Kart World bundle. Nintendo says availability is subject to supplies, so use the page to find listings—not as confirmation of live inventory at a particular store.

The page also displays a Nintendo Switch 2 + Nintendo Switch Sports Resort bundle with availability dated October 22, 2026. That date is in the future as of October 8, 2026; check the page and retailer listing again before relying on it.
Set up alerts on the retailer’s own listing
- Open the specific console or bundle listing at a participating retailer.
- If the listing offers an in-stock notification, enable it there. Confirm that the email address or app notification settings are correct. The availability of alert tools varies by retailer and should be checked on its current product page.
- When an alert arrives, open the listing and confirm that the item is actually available before checkout. An alert is not a reservation.
Retailer inventory can change between checks. If getting a console matters, check the listing manually as well as relying on notifications.

Check what you are buying before checkout
When several listings appear, compare the details that affect both the purchase and its cost:
- Product: Verify whether the listing is for a standalone Nintendo Switch 2 console or a bundle, and check exactly what the bundle includes.
- Seller: Confirm who is selling the item, especially if the retailer’s page includes third-party sellers.
- Total price: Review the checkout total and any listed savings. Nintendo notes that savings may vary; confirm the price and terms on the retailer’s own page.
- Availability and fulfillment: Distinguish in-stock status from an order that will ship later, and compare the stated delivery date with pickup options.
- Returns and cancellation: Read the retailer’s terms before placing the order.
Understand “back-ordered” versus available to buy
“Back-ordered” does not mean a retailer has new stock ready for immediate purchase. Nintendo Support defines the Nintendo Store status this way: “Back-Ordered: This item is currently unavailable and will ship as soon as it is in stock.” For an existing Nintendo Store order, check order history or order status to see whether this is the status shown.

Nintendo’s general order-status guidance says most items return to processing within 3–4 days and advises allowing one week for back-ordered items. This is processing guidance for Nintendo Store orders, not a guaranteed restock date or a forecast for other retailers. It does not tell you when a retailer will have stock available for a new purchase.

Nintendo’s financial report dates the Switch 2 hardware launch to June 5, 2025. Launch-era preorder schedules and invitation programs should therefore be treated as historical unless an official current page announces a new preorder window. Nintendo Support’s page on preordering digital games and pre-purchasing physical items distinguishes those purchase types; it does not establish that Switch 2 hardware preorders are currently open.

What sales figures can—and cannot—tell you
Nintendo Co., Ltd. reported an estimated 15 million units in cumulative global Switch 2 consumer sell-through through the fourth week of December 2025. That figure describes sales through that period; it cannot predict stock at a local retailer or tell you when a restock will happen.
