To order checks, sign in to the bank account that needs them and look for Order Checks, Reorder Checks, or Account Services. Select the personal or business account, follow the bank’s ordering steps, verify the printed details, and review the price and delivery information before submitting. Your bank may also offer ordering by app, phone, or branch.
Steps to order checks
- Select the right account. Sign in to online or mobile banking and choose the specific personal or business account. Ordering pages and available products can differ by account type.
- Find the bank’s ordering route. Look for Order Checks, Reorder Checks, or Account Services. Labels and navigation vary by institution; follow the route in your bank’s authenticated portal or contact the bank if you cannot find it.
- Choose the order type and products. Select a check design and quantity or the applicable order type. Business ordering may include deposit tickets or other items. For example, U.S. Bank lists introductory packs, eChecks, replacement checks, and deposit slips for business accounts.
- Check the printed information. Review the name, address, routing number, account number, and starting check number shown in the order. If you change the address printed on the checks, check whether you also need to update your address separately in the bank’s records.
- Review the checkout details. Check the displayed price, any available discount, and delivery information before submitting. Charges and discounts can depend on the account and check style.
- Complete any printer handoff carefully. Some banks direct customers to an outside check printer. Start from the bank’s authenticated ordering flow, and make sure the order details are correct before completing it on the printer’s site.
Personal and business orders may work differently
Personal checking
Chase’s personal-check instructions direct customers to sign in, choose a design, and review the cost and available discounts. Chase also says personal checks can be ordered at a branch. These are Chase-specific options; other banks may use different steps.

Business checking
Business accounts may have a separate order page and a wider choice of products. Chase directs business customers to its business check-order page after sign-in or to a branch. U.S. Bank describes a business flow with options such as an introductory pack, replacement checks, and deposit slips, including an app route. Check your own bank’s business-account instructions rather than assuming its personal-check process applies.
How much do new checks cost?
There is no single price that applies across banks. Chase says customers can review the cost and available discounts before submitting an order. Bank of America says costs vary by check style and that some account types or Preferred Rewards clients may qualify for free standard checks or discounts. Your account’s current ordering page is the best place to confirm your price and eligibility.
How long does check delivery take?
Delivery estimates depend on the bank and order. Santander’s current guidance gives an estimate of 7–10 business days for an initial order of checks and deposit tickets placed when opening an account. That estimate is specific to Santander’s account-opening order; it is not a general delivery window or a stated estimate for replacement orders.
Can you order checks from another printer?
A third-party printer may be an alternative, but first check whether your bank offers or directs you to a provider. Santander identifies Deluxe as its preferred check vendor, and U.S. Bank describes a Deluxe-assisted business ordering option. These examples do not mean every bank uses Deluxe or endorses every outside printer.

If you buy from a printer outside your bank’s ordering flow, Chase advises confirming your personal and account information before placing the order. Do not share account or routing details publicly. For account-specific eligibility, fees, or questions about an unfamiliar handoff, use your bank’s support channel.

What to do if you cannot find the order option
- Confirm you selected the account that needs checks, especially if you have both personal and business accounts.
- Search the bank’s current help pages for its check-ordering instructions; the menu path may differ by institution.
- Ask whether ordering is available by phone or at a branch. Banks including Chase and U.S. Bank describe non-portal options for some orders.
- Before submitting, verify the account details, printed information, price, and delivery estimate shown for your order.
