There is no reliable, publicly established figure for Carlisle United owner Tom Piatak’s personal net worth. The club is owned by Castle Sports Group, which Carlisle says is owned by the Piatak family, but the available ownership records, club accounts and funding announcements do not disclose the family’s personal assets or liabilities.
Who owns Carlisle United?
Carlisle United announced on 22 November 2023 that ownership and control had changed, naming Castle Sports Group, owned by the Piatak family of Jacksonville, Florida, as the club’s new owners. The club’s announcement identifies the family as the owners; BBC Sport reported in May 2026 that Tom Piatak and Castle Sports Group had owned Carlisle since November 2023.
The corporate structure matters when interpreting financial figures. Carlisle’s 2024 accounts say Castle Sports Group acquired 90% of C.U.F.C. Holdings on 22 November 2023. Companies House lists C.U.F.C. Holdings Limited as having significant control over the club company, with ownership of 75% or more. Those records describe control of companies, not the personal net worth of an individual shareholder.
Why the club’s finances do not reveal the owner’s wealth
A football club’s revenue, losses, share issues and expected funding needs belong to the club or its corporate owners. They do not show how much money an individual has overall: personal wealth depends on assets and liabilities across all of that person’s interests, which these club disclosures do not set out.

Funding and investment
In a February 2025 update, Carlisle said funding to finance the club was provided by the Piatak family via Palm Sports LLC. The same update described a £2 million Castle Sports Group share issue as part of the investment financing. These disclosures show funding arrangements for the club; they do not establish the family’s total assets or how much any individual member is worth.
Forecast funding needs
The club’s accounts for the year ended 30 June 2024 said that further funding of between £3.5 million and £4.0 million could be required during the year ending 30 June 2026, depending on assumptions including the club’s league status. This was a company forecast, not a statement of the family’s personal wealth.

Turnover and losses
For the year ended 30 June 2025, Carlisle reported turnover of £6,899,969 and a loss of £5,020,420 in its summary published on 30 March 2026. The club’s summary for the year ended 30 June 2024 gave headline turnover of £8.31 million. These are club figures for particular accounting periods, not Piatak’s income, assets or net worth.

The available sources identify the Piatak family as owners and report Tom Piatak’s association with Carlisle, but they do not substantiate a personal net-worth estimate for him or the family. Without a credible source that directly attributes and supports such a figure, giving a number would be speculation.
