You can no longer file a claim or request payment reissuance through the Lopez Voice Assistant Settlement. The claim deadline was July 2, 2025, and the settlement website listed September 3, 2026, as the deadline to request reissuance of a payment. Both had passed as of October 8, 2026. The $95 million was the settlement fund—not a guaranteed payment to each person.
What the Apple Siri settlement covered
The Lopez Voice Assistant Settlement resolved a privacy case concerning allegations that Siri activated unintentionally and that confidential or private communications were obtained by Apple or shared with third parties. The court’s preliminary approval order certified the class for settlement purposes. Apple denied liability and did not oppose the motion for preliminary approval; that procedural statement is not a finding that the allegations were true.

The settlement class covered people who currently or formerly owned or purchased a qualifying Siri device, lived in the United States or its territories, and had a confidential or private communication obtained by Apple or shared with a third party because of an unintended Siri activation between September 17, 2014, and December 31, 2024. The order lists Siri-enabled iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, MacBook, iMac, HomePod, iPod touch, and Apple TV. Read the preliminary approval order.
Who qualified under the claim form
The claim form required a claimant to attest that they owned or purchased and enabled Siri on the device, experienced at least one unintended activation, and had at least one such activation during a conversation they intended to be confidential or private. Those attestations were made under penalty of perjury. Device ownership alone was not enough; the residence, date-range, unintended-activation, and private-conversation conditions also mattered. Why you cannot submit a new claim now
The original deadline to submit a claim online or by mail was July 2, 2025. Online submissions were due by 11:59 p.m. Pacific Time; mailed claims had to be postmarked by that date. The settlement website separately listed September 3, 2026, as the deadline to request reissuance of a payment. As of October 8, 2026, neither deadline remains open. The official settlement website and settlement FAQs are the appropriate places to verify administrator information; contact the administrator about an individual unresolved issue, but do not assume a late claim or payment request can be accepted.
What the $95 million meant for individual payments
The $95 million figure was the total settlement fund. The claim form described a pro rata share of the net fund, capped at $20 per Siri device, with the amount subject to adjustment based on the number of valid claims and devices. It was not a promise that each eligible person would receive $20, nor a guarantee of any particular payment amount. The available materials do not establish a typical or average individual payment.

Do not confuse this with another Apple Siri case
The Lopez settlement concerns alleged privacy harms from unintended Siri activations. It is distinct from a separate Apple Intelligence/Siri delayed-feature settlement surfaced in 2026 search results. That other matter has different terms and eligibility; its fund amount, device criteria, and payment figures do not apply to the Lopez privacy case.
