SalarySport estimates Swansea City’s player wage bill at £278,214 a week for the 2026/27 season. That is a third-party estimate, not an official figure for everyone the club employs. For comparison, SalarySport estimated £301,840 a week for 2024/25, based on wage estimates for 43 players.
What is Swansea City’s estimated weekly wage bill?
The latest season figure available from SalarySport is £278,214 per week for 2026/27. SalarySport presents it as an estimate of player wages; it is not a reported or audited club payroll total. The club has not announced an official weekly wage figure in its financial statement for 2024/25.
SalarySport says its 2026/27 estimate is 8% lower than its 2024/25 estimate. That comparison is between the publisher’s estimates for those seasons, not confirmation that Swansea City’s actual total payroll fell by 8%. See SalarySport’s Swansea City wage estimates.
How the estimates compare by season
| Season | Weekly estimate | Annual estimate | Scope and status |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2024/25 | £301,840 | £15,695,680 | SalarySport estimate for player wages, covering 43 players with wage estimates; historical season |
| 2026/27 | £278,214 | Not stated by SalarySport on the cited season page | SalarySport’s current-season estimate for player wages; not an official club outturn |
The 2024/25 weekly and annual figures are SalarySport estimates, not figures reported by Swansea City. The different season labels matter: the 2024/25 number describes a completed season, while the £278,214 figure is an estimate for 2026/27. SalarySport’s season figures.

What does “average wage” mean here?
A team’s weekly wage bill is the estimated combined cost of player wages. It is different from an individual player’s average salary. For 2024/25, SalarySport separately reports an average of £10,894 per week for 24 players aged 22 and over for whom it held estimates. That is not an average across all 43 players in the wage-bill estimate, nor across all Swansea City employees. SalarySport’s 2024/25 figures.
SalarySport also attributes 35% of its estimated 2024/25 squad wage bill to the five highest earners on its page. This describes the distribution within its estimate, not a club-confirmed payroll breakdown. SalarySport’s player estimates.

What Swansea City’s accounts report—and what they do not
Swansea City AFC reported turnover of £22.3 million and operational costs of £51.3 million for the year ended 30 June 2025. Those are club-reported financial figures, but the announcement does not state a weekly wage bill. It also reported a £21.6 million loss before tax and £8.1 million profit on player trading; neither figure is a wages total. Read Swansea City’s announcement of its 2024/25 financial statements.
SalarySport’s summary of the 2024/25 accounts says staff costs are not separated from other operating costs. That means the operational-cost figure cannot be treated as a staff-wage figure, and the player estimates cannot be described as a verified total for all club employees. Companies House lists unaudited abridged accounts made up to 30 June 2025, filed on 31 March 2026; the filing listing does not itself establish a weekly payroll figure.
