Steve Rosen built his business career in private-equity investing; Helmy Eltoukhy built his in biotechnology and genomics, co-founding companies including Avantome and Guardant Health. Public records document those careers and the corporate structure behind Sheffield United’s 2024 takeover, but they do not disclose either man’s personal net worth, individual proceeds from company deals, or personal contribution to the club purchase.
How Steve Rosen built his career
Rosen’s clearest documented route to wealth is private-equity investing. Resilience Capital Partners says Rosen and Bassem Mansour co-founded the firm in 2001. The company invests in businesses in areas including manufacturing, distribution, business services and aviation, as well as special situations. It lists an equity-investment range of $10 million to $75 million; that is the firm’s stated investment size, not Rosen’s personal investment or wealth (Resilience Capital Partners).
The firm identifies Rosen as its co-founder and chairman, with responsibilities spanning investor relationships, strategic planning and operations. It also lists him as a co-founder of Zanite Corporation and Gammite Ventures and as manager of Azurite Management, a private investment firm focused on public companies (Rosen’s Resilience Capital biography). These roles establish a career in investment and business management, but the published biographies do not specify his compensation, personal ownership of funds, or realized returns.
How Helmy Eltoukhy built his career
Eltoukhy’s documented path is biotech entrepreneurship and executive leadership, particularly in genomics and precision oncology. According to Guardant Health’s 2018 SEC-filed registration statement, he co-founded Avantome in June 2007 to commercialize semiconductor sequencing and led it as CEO until Illumina acquired the company in August 2008. He then worked at Illumina from August 2008 to December 2012, before becoming CEO of Guardant Health in January 2013 (Guardant Health SEC filing, 2018).

Guardant’s current leadership biography says Eltoukhy co-founded the company with AmirAli Talasaz in 2012 and serves as its chairman and co-CEO (Guardant Health leadership). His record therefore includes founding a sequencing company, an acquisition by Illumina, and a senior role at a publicly traded genomics company. The SEC biography does not state the Avantome purchase price or how much Eltoukhy personally received. Guardant’s public-company status likewise does not reveal the value or liquidity of his individual holdings.
What the record says about their money
The documented career paths show how each man built a business career, not how much cash either personally accumulated. The available sources do not provide an attributable personal net-worth figure for Rosen or Eltoukhy. They also do not establish Rosen’s realized private-equity returns, Eltoukhy’s proceeds from Avantome, or his personal gains from Guardant Health shares.

Company investment ranges, acquisition headlines, and a public company’s market value are not substitutes for an individual’s financial records. Without disclosed ownership, sale proceeds, compensation, taxes and other personal financial details, those business milestones cannot support a reliable estimate of either owner’s net worth or a comparison of who is richer.

Sheffield United’s accounts for the year ended 30 June 2025 state that COH Sports Bidco acquired 100% of Blades Leisure Limited, the club’s parent company, on 23 December 2024. The accounts identify COH Sports United LLC as the ultimate parent and say it is jointly controlled by the trusts of Stephen H Rosen and Helmy Eltoukhy (Sheffield United financial statements, 2025).

The club’s announcement described the transaction as the acquisition of 100% of Blades Leisure and identified Rosen and Eltoukhy as leaders of COH Sports (Sheffield United takeover announcement, 23 December 2024). Companies House lists both as directors appointed that day (Companies House officer record).
That documentation explains the corporate ownership chain, not the two individuals’ financing arrangements. It does not state how much either personally contributed toward the purchase or how the acquisition was funded in total.
