How Xzibit’s Finances Changed After ‘Pimp My Ride’ Was Canceled

Xzibit’s reported income fell sharply after Pimp My Ride ended, but the court-record figures do not establish a precise net-worth loss or prove the cancellation was the sole cause of his later financial strain.

Contemporaneous reports based on bankruptcy records show a sharp drop in Xzibit’s reported income after Pimp My Ride ended: he earned $497,175 from the show in 2007, while his total income was $67,510 in 2008. Those figures document financial strain, but they do not establish a precise fall in his net worth or prove the cancellation alone caused his later financial problems.

What the income figures show—and what they do not

The key comparison comes from reporting on bankruptcy-court records: Xzibit earned $497,175 from Pimp My Ride in 2007, then reported total income of $67,510 in 2008, after the show was canceled, according to The Detroit News, republished by The Spokesman-Review in 2010. The Boombox also reported the comparison based on court records (The Boombox, December 31, 2010).

These are different measures: the 2007 figure is income from one television show, while the 2008 figure is total income. They show that reported income fell dramatically after the program ended, but they are not a like-for-like annual comparison of show earnings, and they cannot be used to calculate a precise percentage decline in either show income or net worth.

When did ‘Pimp My Ride’ end?

Paramount’s official catalog describes Pimp My Ride as an MTV reality series featuring Xzibit and custom auto shops modifying viewers’ vehicles. It lists seasons 1–5, 67 episodes, and a 2004–2006 release range (Paramount Global Content). Contemporary financial reporting says the show was canceled in 2007. Those dates refer to different catalog and reporting descriptions, so they should not be collapsed into a single definitive broadcast timeline.

What the bankruptcy reporting documented

Reporting on Xzibit’s July 2009 bankruptcy filing said it listed $739,433 in assets and more than $1.4 million in liabilities. The 2010 account also reported that two bankruptcy filings were dismissed for different reasons (The Spokesman-Review / The Detroit News; see also The Boombox).

The reported asset and liability totals indicate substantial financial distress at the time. They are figures from a historical filing, however, not a current balance sheet or a continuous record of his wealth. Liabilities exceeding listed assets in that filing do not by themselves establish his net worth in later years.

Historical tax liens and payment arrangement

The same public-record reporting described four federal tax liens totaling $959,523 across 2008–2010. It also said the 2009 filing acknowledged IRS debt and a verbal agreement to pay $250 per month. The report listed a leased 2006 Range Rover at $2,230 per month (The Spokesman-Review / The Detroit News). These are historical reported amounts, not current tax balances, vehicle costs, or payment terms.

What later financial disclosures add

In April 2026, Complex reported figures from Xzibit’s disclosures in a divorce-court dispute: around $66,000 in monthly income, more than $1.4 million in personal liabilities, about $2 million in business obligations, and monthly expenses exceeding $23,000 (Complex, April 22, 2026). Complex also reported that he attributed much of his recent income to touring and promoting music and said he did not expect that level of revenue to continue.

These are statements reported from a later family-law proceeding, not independently audited accounts. They describe a different period and include both personal and business obligations; they should not be added to the 2009 figures as if they were a single, current balance sheet.

Is there a reliable current net-worth figure?

The records cited here do not provide an audited current net-worth figure or a year-by-year net-worth series. Celebrity Net Worth estimated Xzibit’s net worth at negative $1.5 million in an entry updated April 22, 2026 (Celebrity Net Worth), but that is a third-party estimate—not a court finding, financial statement, or verified account of his assets and debts.

The defensible conclusion is narrower: reporting on court records documented a sharp post-show income decline and serious financial obligations, while later divorce-court disclosures described substantial personal and business liabilities alongside reported monthly income. That evidence does not show that the show’s cancellation alone caused his financial condition, nor does it establish an exact amount by which his net worth fell.
