1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFortnite skins have no official cash resale value. Epic says its in-game content is licensed, not sold, and that items stay on the account where they were acquired. What you paid in V-Bucks—or the real money used to buy those V-Bucks—is not an amount you can cash out by selling the skin through Fortnite.
What “worth” means for a Fortnite skin
What it cost to get
The original cost depends on the particular shop offer or bundle and the V-Bucks price at the time. Epic describes V-Bucks as the currency used to buy cosmetics, but its official materials do not give every skin a universal dollar price. Epic’s V-Bucks FAQ explains the in-game currency; your past spend is not a cash valuation of the item.
What you can sell it for
Epic does not support player-to-player trading or an official cash-out for skins. Its Player Support guidance says trading items in Fortnite is not a supported in-game action, and Epic says items remain on the account where they were purchased, earned, or claimed. Epic’s trading guidance covers the transfer restriction. The End User License Agreement states that in-game content is licensed, not sold, and prohibits converting it to value outside the product. Can you sell or transfer a skin?
No official Fortnite feature lets you sell a skin to another player, move it to a different account, or exchange it for money. Because Epic says items stay with the account on which they were acquired and trading is unsupported, a skin’s age, rarity, popularity, or original price does not establish an Epic-approved resale price.

Selling the entire account is not an approved workaround. Epic says buying, selling, or sharing accounts violates its Terms of Service and can result in a ban. Epic’s account-security guidance addresses account sales; its ban guidance explains that violations can have account consequences. Epic also warns against external sites that request Epic login details.
Unofficial account listings are not Epic-supported valuations. The official rules do not establish a verified market price for such listings, and an attempted sale can expose an account to policy and security risks. Do not treat a listing—or a skin’s rarity—as proof of what the cosmetic is worth in cash.

Can a refund get your money back?
A cancellation or return is a limited purchase remedy, not a resale. For V-Buck cosmetic purchases, Epic says you can cancel until you equip the item during gameplay or 24 hours pass, whichever happens first. Eligible purchases may instead be returned with a Return Ticket within 30 days. Epic says accounts start with three tickets, can hold up to three at once, and receive a replacement ticket 365 days after the most recent ticket was added. A return removes the item and restores the V-Bucks spent; it does not pay cash for the skin. Epic’s cancellation and return policy
Epic Games Store guidance separately says qualifying in-app purchases made through Epic’s payment platform may be refundable within 14 days if marked refundable or self-refundable. Purchases made on other platforms follow those platforms’ refund processes. That 14-day policy is distinct from Fortnite’s V-Buck cosmetic cancellation and Return Ticket rules. What to do if you want cash or a different skin
- Want to reverse a recent cosmetic purchase? Check the item’s cancellation eligibility and Return Ticket options in Fortnite’s refund and return process.
- Want to move a skin to another account or trade it? Epic does not support that transfer.
- Want to sell a skin or cash out its original cost? Fortnite provides no official cash-sale or redemption route. Avoid relying on third-party account listings as an Epic-approved price or transaction.
- Want V-Bucks for a future cosmetic? A V-Bucks gift card can add currency to an Epic account, but it does not raise the cash resale value of skins you already own. Epic notes that cards may be limited to accounts registered in the country where the card is distributed; check the card’s region and current availability before purchase.
