Daniel Radcliffe’s reported salary for the eight Harry Potter films totals $108 million before taxes, according to a film-by-film breakdown published by AlloCiné on May 13, 2026, which attributes the estimates to CBS. The amounts are reported estimates, not publicly verified contract or studio payroll figures.
Reported pay for each Harry Potter movie
AlloCiné’s May 13, 2026 breakdown lists these estimated salaries in U.S. dollars and attributes them to CBS. The first film was released in the United States as Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone; its UK title is Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone.
| Film | Reported salary estimate |
|---|---|
| Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone / Sorcerer’s Stone | $1 million |
| Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets | $2 million |
| Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban | $6 million |
| Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire | $11 million |
| Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix | $14 million |
| Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince | $24 million |
| Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1 | $25 million |
| Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 | $25 million |
| Reported total | $108 million |
The reported estimates climb from $1 million for the first film to $25 million for each of the two Deathly Hallows installments. AlloCiné describes the series’ filming span as 2001 to 2010, or nine years.
Why $108 million and $95.6 million are different figures
The $108 million is presented as the total of reported film salaries before taxes. AlloCiné also gives a $95.6 million after-tax figure, attributed to CBS. CBS News separately described Radcliffe as having amassed a $95.6 million fortune from the series in 2016. These figures have different stated bases; they should not be treated as two equivalent audited totals or as a definitive calculation of his current net worth.

What the reported total does—and does not—include
AlloCiné says the $108 million salary calculation does not include possible participation in film revenues or merchandise income if those were part of Radcliffe’s contract. The reporting does not establish whether he received such payments or how much they might have been. Adding speculative royalties, residuals, or merchandising income would therefore produce an unsupported total.
The exact contract terms and studio payment records are not publicly established by these reports. AlloCiné attributes its salary breakdown to CBS; CBS’s 2016 article corroborates the $95.6 million fortune figure and the eight-film count, but does not publish the full salary table. Radcliffe has also discussed the financial freedom his earnings gave him: CBS reported a comment he made to the Telegraph, “I don’t really do anything with my money.”

How the early franchise uncertainty fits in
In a 2013 Guardian interview, Radcliffe recalled initially understanding he had signed on for the first two films. He said: “Warner genuinely didn’t know at that stage if they were going to make more than one film.” That recollection provides context for how the series developed, but it is not evidence for the salary estimates.
