How the $1,279.47 subtotal is calculated
The calculation uses the standard list price for each of three pack categories in EA’s US catalog. EA describes Expansion Packs as large additions that take Sims on new adventures (Expansion Packs), and Game Packs as medium packs with themed experiences (Game Packs).

The counts and arithmetic produce a US-dollar list-price subtotal from the catalog pricing surfaced for this article. The Stuff Pack category has 21 results, but one is a Digital Deluxe Upgrade rather than a regular Stuff Pack, so it is not counted here. Why there is no reliable total for every add-on
Kits have mixed listings and prices
EA’s Kits category shows 62 results, but those results are not 62 interchangeable standard Kits. Regular Kits are commonly listed at $4.99, while some capsule, collaboration or Maker-related listings have different pricing or product types. Multiplying 62 by $4.99 would therefore give a misleading estimate. Check the current Kits catalog for the items and prices available to you.

Maker Packs use Moola
EA describes a Maker Pack as “A curated collection of items created by a Maker for The Sims 4. Get them using Moola, the in-game currency.” Because an exhaustive catalog cost and a complete Moola conversion are not established here, Maker Packs cannot be added into a defensible all-content sum. Base game and upgrade are separate scope choices
The $1,279.47 figure does not include a base-game charge or the Digital Deluxe Upgrade. EA’s purchase page presents The Sims 4 as a digital download with add-ons; whether a buyer includes a base-game edition or upgrade depends on what they already own and what “all” means for them. The subtotal also omits any free content, so it is not a tally of every item available in the game.

What you might actually pay at checkout
EA’s storefront shows promotions, including sale prices surfaced at $13.99 for listed Game Packs and $6.99 for listed Stuff Packs, compared with their $19.99 and $9.99 list prices. Expansion Pack prices can also vary with promotions. These are storefront offers, not guaranteed prices: the total may change by date, region, platform and checkout currency. The catalog pricing used for the calculation is a US-dollar baseline, not a universal quote.
EA’s page also lists EA Play at $5.99 per month and says members save 10% on eligible EA digital purchases, including DLC. That does not automatically reduce the subtotal: membership has a fee, and eligibility and terms apply. Compare the subscription cost and applicable discount against the packs you intend to buy rather than treating 10% as a guaranteed saving on the full catalog.

Bundles can change the comparison
EA offers grouped bundles that may save money, but the displayed saving is not necessarily the saving for someone who already owns one or more included packs. Compare the bundle’s checkout price with the price of only the content you still need; do not add a bundle price on top of every individual pack price to calculate ownership cost. Availability and bundle terms may vary by platform or region.

- Define what counts. Decide whether your target includes only Expansion, Game and Stuff Packs, or also Kits, Maker Packs, an upgrade and the base game.
- Check the catalog where you will buy. Confirm current availability and checkout prices for your country and platform, distinguishing regular prices from temporary sale prices.
- Subtract what you already own. For bundles, compare the price of the missing content rather than relying on a headline saving that may include duplicates.
- Keep uncertain categories separate. Do not estimate a full Kits or Maker Pack total from a single assumed price; record actual listed prices and currency requirements as you shop.
- Allow for checkout differences. Taxes, currency and platform pricing can affect the amount charged, so use the final regional checkout total for a purchase decision.
For someone starting from zero and buying only the 21 Expansion Packs, 12 Game Packs and 20 regular Stuff Packs at the catalog list prices used here, $1,279.47 is the reproducible starting point. A true all-content bill depends on the additional categories, current offers and what the buyer already owns.
