Where did the $500,000-a-day claim come from?
In 2024, venture capitalist Henry L. McNamara posted that an NBC executive had told him at dinner that Snoop was being paid $500,000 per day, plus expenses. Sporting News reported the claim and said NBC had not confirmed it. The figure is therefore an attributed social-media claim, not a verified salary or disclosed contract term. Sporting News’ account.
Sporting News also suggested a total of more than $8.5 million by projecting the claimed daily rate across the period. That was the outlet’s calculation based on the unconfirmed rate and an assumed duration—not a reported contract total.
