What the headline estimates mean
Hamilton’s figure is a currency conversion
PlanetF1’s $586 million estimate for Hamilton comes from The Sunday Times Rich List 2026 estimate of £435 million, converted to US dollars. The original pound figure is the Rich List estimate as reported by PlanetF1; the dollar value is a conversion, not a separate confirmed valuation.

Norris’s estimate is particularly unsettled
PlanetF1 lists Norris at $60 million but notes that published estimates range from $37 million to $80 million. Treat the table’s figure as one ranking’s estimate, not a settled value.
Stroll’s estimate is for Lance, not Lawrence
The $50 million entry refers to driver Lance Stroll’s estimated personal worth, not the reported fortune of his father, Lawrence Stroll.
Lindblad’s figure has limited support
PlanetF1 estimates Lindblad’s net worth at about $1 million while acknowledging that exact figures are not widely reported. That makes it one of the least certain entries in the ranking.

A net-worth estimate aims to describe accumulated assets minus liabilities. It is not the same as salary for a season, a contract’s stated value, or a year’s total earnings. Those figures can differ in what they include: RacingNews365 says its 2026 salary estimates draw on paddock sources and exclude bonuses and personal sponsorship contracts. Forbes Australia’s reproduction of Forbes SportsMoney’s 2025 earnings estimates separates salary and bonuses. Neither measure, by itself, establishes a driver’s net worth.

Rankings also vary in their estimates. AthleteWiki’s ranking, updated October 7, 2026, puts Hamilton at $550 million rather than PlanetF1’s $586 million, and Norris at $37 million rather than $60 million. It lists Alonso at $260 million, Verstappen at $210 million, Leclerc at $125 million, Stroll and Piastri at $50 million, and Sainz at $49 million. These differences show why the figures should be attributed to a publisher rather than combined into a supposedly definitive total.
