There is no single, comparable U.S.-only annual total in the available figures. For calendar year 2025, Lockheed Martin reported delivering 191 F-35s and 16 F-16s, but those are company program delivery figures—not a count of fighter jets delivered only to U.S. forces or a complete tally of aircraft made in the United States.
What the 2025 figures actually count
“Produced,” “delivered,” and “procured” are different measures. A production count would track aircraft manufactured during a stated period; a delivery count tracks aircraft handed over to customers; procurement figures describe aircraft bought or funded by a government. The 2025 Lockheed Martin numbers are deliveries across its programs, not a verified national production total.
| Program | Figure | Measure and scope |
|---|---|---|
| F-35 | 191 | Calendar-year 2025 deliveries reported by Lockheed Martin. The program serves U.S. customers, international partners, and Foreign Military Sales customers; the figure is not limited to U.S. recipients. |
| F-16 | 16 | Calendar-year 2025 deliveries reported by Lockheed Martin. This is a program delivery figure, not a complete U.S.-only production count. |
The two reported delivery figures add to 207, but that sum is only the cited F-35 and F-16 program deliveries for 2025. It is not the number of fighter jets the USA produced: the figures do not establish where every aircraft was made or who received each one, and they do not cover every U.S.-based fighter program.
Why the F-15EX rate is not an annual delivery count
The U.S. Air Force’s FY2025 procurement exhibit, published as 2024 budget-planning data, listed F-15EX production-rate assumptions of 12 aircraft per year at the minimum-sustaining rate, 18 at the planning rate, and 24 at the maximum rate. These are planning rates, not realized output or deliveries in calendar 2025, so they should not be added to the Lockheed Martin figures.

There was also a real production disruption: the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center reported that a strike halted the F-15EX line from August 4 to November 17, 2025, disrupting deliveries before they resumed. The report does not provide a complete annual count of U.S.-made fighters.
What the cumulative F-35 total tells you
Lockheed Martin reported 1,293 cumulative F-35 deliveries through December 31, 2025: 927 F-35As, 238 F-35Bs, and 128 F-35Cs. That cumulative program figure covers U.S. and international customers; it is not an annual number or a U.S.-only total.

- IFF antenna array in front of the cockpit distinguishes this CCIP-equipped model from other F-16s.
- Curved form of the F-16 accurately reproduced with trademark Tamiya precision.
- Moveable horizontal stabilizers. "Flaperons" can be modelled in the up or down positions.
- Full ordnance load including AGM-88 HARM, AIM-120C AMRAAM, AIM-9M/X Sidewinder, ECM pod, and fuel tanks included.
- Centerline and inner wing pylons as well as tail assembly feature polycaps to allow easy detachment for storage.
Lockheed Martin described annual F-35 production as “running at a pace five times faster than any other allied fighter currently in production” in a January 7, 2026, program release. This is the company’s characterization, not a government statistic or a count of U.S.-only annual production.

The available figures do not provide a consolidated calendar-year count of every fighter manufactured at U.S. facilities, nor do they split the 2025 F-35 deliveries by destination. A national total would need comparable realized production quantities across programs, for the same period, plus enough information to distinguish aircraft made in the United States from aircraft delivered to U.S. forces. The cited delivery totals and F-15EX rate targets do not supply that information.
