Later reporting traced its TX07 movement to Swiss supplier BCP Tourbillons. But the public evidence also does not justify treating it as a $100,000 horological masterpiece. It is a real, heavily decorated, outsourced luxury product whose price depends substantially on gold, diamonds, scarcity, political celebrity, and licensing—not on a clearly documented elite watchmaking pedigree.
The word tragic is an opinion, but it has a defensible meaning here: the watch turns presidential symbolism and luxury aspiration into a private commercial product while offering limited manufacturing transparency, restrictive buyer terms, and—according to a later federal disclosure—$4.7 million in royalty income to Donald Trump.
The evidence at a glance
| Question | Best-supported answer |
|---|---|
| What was the flagship? | A $100,000 Trump Victory Tourbillon, originally limited to 147 numbered pieces in three versions. |
| What did the seller claim? | Approximately 200 grams of 18-karat gold, 122 VS1 diamonds, a Swiss-made TX07 tourbillon, and a 105-hour power reserve. |
| Who made the movement? | Swiss broadcaster SRF traced it to BCP Tourbillons in La Chaux-de-Fonds. BCP founder Olivier Mory described it as a standard movement supplied to multiple customers. |
| Did Trump make the watch? | No. The seller’s legal terms say TheBestWatchesonEarth LLC licensed Trump’s name, image, and likeness. Trump and the Trump Organization are not identified as the manufacturer or seller. |
| Did Trump personally profit? | Yes, according to his certified 2025 annual financial disclosure released June 30, 2026. It reports $4.7 million in royalty income from a license agreement for “Trump Watches.” |
| Is the whole watch Swiss-made? | That is not established. The evidence supports a Swiss-supplied movement, not a fully Swiss-made case, bracelet, diamond setting, assembly, and finishing process. |
| Is it a good investment? | There is no demonstrated secondary-market performance, and the seller expressly says the watches are collectibles rather than investment products. |
The product’s current availability is also unclear. As of August 10, 2026, the individual $100,000 Victory Tourbillon pages show the variants as sold out, while the collection page still displays pre-order buttons. That inconsistency is not proof of wrongdoing, but it is relevant when a seller is marketing scarcity and taking orders for a six-figure item. See the current Victory Tourbillon collection page and the black-and-gold product page.
What buyers were promised for $100,000
Trump promoted the original collection in September 2024, during the presidential campaign, in a video and on Truth Social. The headline product was called the Trump Victory Tourbillon. The seller advertised three versions: black dial, gold dial, and rose gold.

Those are primarily seller claims. The limited run and price are easy to observe on the product pages; the gold weight, diamond quality, and full construction details are not independently documented in the public materials reviewed for this article.
The cheaper products were a different proposition. The original collection included “Fight Fight Fight” watches starting at roughly $499, with some versions priced around $799. They should not be treated as scaled-down versions of the $100,000 tourbillon. The lower-priced models carried more overt campaign-era imagery, including the assassination-attempt photograph on some versions. WIRED’s original report also noted conflicting water-resistance claims among those models.
The brand later added a Crypto President Tourbillon priced at $100,000. Its page advertised only 10 pieces, 200 grams of 18-karat gold, 122 VS1 diamonds, 210 orange sapphires, the TX07 movement, and a 105-hour reserve. It required Bitcoin payment and now shows as sold out. Its estimated August 2025 delivery date is historical, not a current delivery promise. See the official Crypto President Tourbillon page.
Trump is the brand—not the watchmaker
The distinction matters financially and legally. The seller’s own collection language says the watches are not designed, manufactured, distributed, or sold by Donald Trump, the Trump Organization, or their affiliates. Instead, TheBestWatchesonEarth LLC uses Trump’s name, image, and likeness under a paid licensing agreement. The company lists an address at 1309 Coffeen Avenue, Suite 1200, Sheridan, Wyoming 82801. The relevant language appears in the official terms and collection materials.
Marketing copy uses stronger language, including phrases such as “designed for the president” and “personally designed for President Trump.” But the public record does not establish that Trump personally designed the movement, case, dial, bracelet, or setting. “Trump watch” is an accurate brand description. “A watch made by Trump” is not.
The seller was formed in Wyoming on July 29, 2024, less than two months before the launch, according to CNN. CNN also reported that the listed address was a shopping-center location with a daycare rather than an apparent watchmaking facility, that the address was associated with numerous companies including the company behind Trump’s gold sneakers, and that the registered-agent structure made the people behind the business difficult to identify. The Trump campaign did not provide CNN with those identities. CNN’s reporting transcript supports those details.
That establishes a newly formed and opaque licensing-and-sales entity. It does not, by itself, establish that the LLC is an unlawful “shell company” or that the watches are fraudulent.
The $4.7 million update changes the story
Early coverage emphasized that the watches were not campaign merchandise and that proceeds did not go to Trump’s campaign. That distinction remains important for campaign-finance analysis, but it is not the same as saying Trump received no money.

Trump’s certified 2025 annual financial disclosure, released by the U.S. Office of Government Ethics on June 30, 2026, reports $4.7 million in royalty income from a license agreement with TheBestWatchesonEarth LLC for “Trump Watches.” The filing says the income was inadvertently omitted from the previous report. The financial disclosure PDF does not reveal how many watches were sold, the company’s gross revenue, its costs, or the royalty percentage.
That creates three separate facts:
- Campaign-finance fact: the seller says the watches were not campaign products and that proceeds did not go to the campaign.
- Branding fact: the products were marketed through Trump’s name, image, slogans, presidential identity, and political audience.
- Personal-finance fact: Trump received substantial personal royalty income through the licensing arrangement.
It would be incorrect to say Trump received all sales proceeds. It would also be incorrect to repeat the earlier impression that the arrangement produced no personal income.
The movement: real Swiss supply, limited disclosure
A tourbillon is a rotating mechanical mechanism originally intended to reduce certain positional timing errors caused by gravity. In modern luxury watchmaking, it is also a highly visible complication and a signal of mechanical sophistication. It does not automatically make a watch accurate, prestigious, or worth six figures.
The Trump watch’s tourbillon is deliberately exposed through the dial and caseback. The mechanism is therefore part of the spectacle: the buyer is meant to see the complication operating.

The seller’s current specifications describe the TX07 as:
- Manual-winding, not automatic.
- 105-hour power reserve.
- 3 Hz frequency, or 21,600 beats per hour.
- 19 jewels.
- 31-millimeter diameter.
- 5.7-millimeter thickness.
- 700 g-mm mainspring torque.
The manual-winding point corrects an error in some early coverage. WIRED originally described the watch as using an automatic tourbillon, while the seller’s current technical specifications describe manual winding. In a product investigation, that is a small but meaningful correction.
Early commentary also speculated that the movement might be Chinese or partly Chinese. Later, Swiss broadcaster SRF traced the TX07 to BCP Tourbillons in La Chaux-de-Fonds. BCP founder Olivier Mory described it as a standard movement supplied to multiple customers and told SRF that BCP’s movements cost approximately CHF 2,200 to CHF 5,500, depending on the version. Read SRF’s reporting on BCP Tourbillons.
That price is not the final wholesale cost of the complete watch. It does not include a precious-metal case or bracelet, diamond setting, assembly, finishing, testing, warranty administration, logistics, licensing, marketing, or retail margin. But it does establish that the movement alone is not a six-figure mechanism.

The most accurate conclusion is therefore:
The TX07 appears to be a real Swiss-supplied tourbillon from BCP Tourbillons, not a counterfeit or imaginary in-house masterpiece. That makes the watch less fraudulent than some early commentary suggested—but it also makes the $100,000 price harder to justify as a purely horological proposition.
“Swiss-made TX07 Tourbillon” should not be expanded into “Swiss-made watch.” The public record does not establish where the case, bracelet, stones, assembly, or finishing were produced, nor does the seller publish a detailed technical dossier, chronometric testing results, movement-finishing standard, or service network.
What is the watch actually worth?
No responsible analysis can produce a precise fair value from the public information. The seller does not disclose the full manufacturing chain, detailed labor and finishing costs, total diamond carat weight, independent stone reports, gold assay, licensing costs, or retail margin.
The price should be separated into three different kinds of value:
The Tool Desk
Outbyte Driver Updater FREEScan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Outbyte PC Repair FREERepair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →1. Material value
If the seller’s approximately 200-gram claim is accurate and the entire stated weight is 18-karat gold, the theoretical fine-gold content would be:
200 grams × 75% purity = approximately 150 grams of pure gold.
The bullion calculation is therefore approximately 150 grams multiplied by the spot gold price per gram on the date of valuation. That is not the same as the watch’s resale value. The 200 grams is a seller claim, may describe the combined watch and bracelet, and is not cited to an independent assay. In addition, a finished gold watch is worth more or less than melt value depending on workmanship, condition, buyer demand, and transaction costs.
2. Diamond value
The seller advertises 122 VS1 diamonds and uses G+ color language. Those labels sound precise but are insufficient for valuation.

- VS1 describes clarity, not total size or total carat weight.
- G+ is not a substitute for a complete independent grading report.
- The seller does not publish the total carat weight in the cited product information.
- Small pavé stones can have a very different market value from larger individually certified diamonds.
- The public record does not include independent grading reports for the stones.
“122 diamonds” is a count, not a valuation. Without total carat weight, measurements, cut information, and independent grading, a buyer cannot meaningfully compare the stones with diamonds in other high-end watches or jewelry.
3. Watchmaking and brand value
A six-figure mechanical watch can command that price through a combination of in-house movement development, exceptional hand finishing, a respected manufacture, precious-metal craftsmanship, documented provenance, scarcity, service infrastructure, and durable resale demand.
The Trump tourbillon has apparent scarcity and celebrity provenance. The public evidence is much thinner on independent technical reputation, in-house development, high-level finishing, production provenance, long-term service, and secondary-market demand. The BCP movement price range is not proof of the complete watch’s cost, but it makes clear that the six-figure price is not explained by the movement alone.
The seller itself says the watches are collectibles for personal enjoyment and not investment products. A limited edition can be collectible without appreciating. “Only 147” is a scarcity claim, not evidence of an active resale market or a guaranteed floor under the price.
Why the design invites ridicule
The strongest aesthetic criticism is not simply that the watch is ugly. It is that the design appears to have no visual hierarchy: every symbol of status is turned on at once.
The case has dive-watch-like cues, while the gold, diamond bezel, exposed tourbillon, and presidential messaging push it toward a dress or ceremonial object. The bezel has prominent grip-like notches without an obvious functional rotating-bezel scale. Trump’s name occupies the dial at 12 o’clock. Gold, diamonds, a visible complication, personalization, and political language all compete for attention.
WIRED’s watch expert Tim Barber characterized the pieces as generic, tawdry, and assembled from leftover parts. Those are expert judgments, not objective measurements, but they express the central design problem: the watch treats luxury as the accumulation of recognizable status signals rather than restraint, proportion, finishing, or mechanical coherence. WIRED’s original review and reporting contains that criticism.
That aesthetic may be intentional. The target customer may not want discreet high horology. The customer may want a large, unmistakable Trump object that broadcasts wealth, loyalty, political identity, and access. Judged as political celebrity merchandise, the maximalism is coherent. Judged against traditional luxury-watch standards, it can look like campaign merchandise wearing a tourbillon.
A product that says it is not political
The official FAQ says the watches are not political and have nothing to do with a political campaign. In a narrow legal or campaign-finance sense, that disclaimer may distinguish the seller from the campaign.
Culturally, however, the product is inseparable from Trump’s political persona. The collection uses or invokes:
- Trump’s name and likeness.
- “Fight Fight Fight” and “Victory” language.
- The presidential title.
- Campaign-era imagery.
- “45/47” branding.
- The assassination-attempt photograph on some lower-priced models.
- A marketing video featuring Trump.
- Crypto-presidential and nationalist branding on later products.
The distinction is important for a personal-finance reader. A political product does not have to be a campaign contribution. But the political identity is part of the product’s commercial value proposition, and the 2026 disclosure confirms that Trump personally benefited from the licensing arrangement.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. The buyer terms are unusually important at $100,000
A no-refund policy may be unpleasant on a $499 novelty watch. On a $100,000, made-to-order tourbillon, it is a major financial risk. Before considering a purchase, a buyer should read the terms of use, refund policy, FAQ, and warranty together.

Key purchase risks
- All sales are final: the terms say purchases are nonrefundable unless the seller makes an exception, and the FAQ says there are no refunds.
- Delivery is not guaranteed: stated delivery dates are estimates. The seller says it is not liable for shipping delays and cannot guarantee when an order will arrive.
- Warranty coverage is narrow: the Victory Tourbillon’s two-year limited warranty covers the movement, hands, and dial. It excludes the case, crystal, strap, buckle, bracelet, stem, and crown.
- The original buyer matters: the warranty is limited to the original retail purchaser, which can complicate resale.
- Warranty claims cost the buyer: the customer must send the watch back insured at the customer’s expense, and a $35 return-shipping fee applies.
- Damage exclusions are broad: normal wear, loss, theft, shocks, dents, and similar damage are excluded.
- Water exposure: the FAQ says the tourbillon watches are not intended for water exposure.
- Disputes: the terms require individual arbitration for most disputes, waive class actions, impose a one-year deadline for claims, and provide a 30-day period to opt out of arbitration. New York law governs.
These terms are not presented here as illegal. They are presented because they materially affect the financial risk of buying a $100,000 product from a newly formed and relatively opaque seller. A buyer should also ask who will service the movement if the seller stops operating, whether replacement parts will remain available, and how the watch will be insured in transit.
What the customer complaints do—and do not—show
The broader Trump Watches operation has attracted customer complaints about delays, non-delivery, and ignored refund requests. The Daily Beast reported that 57% of 30 Trustpilot reviewers gave the company one star at the time of its review. The publication also said it could not independently verify the complaints. The company responded that it had tens of thousands of satisfied customers and that some complaints had been resolved. Read the Daily Beast report on customer complaints.
A separately reported quality-control incident involved a customer receiving a watch marked “RUMP,” missing the “T” in “TRUMP.” That is a memorable example of a production or quality-control failure, not proof that every watch is defective. The reported “RUMP” incident should be understood in that limited way.
Accordingly, “scam” remains a customer accusation or critic’s description, not an established legal finding. The stronger consumer conclusion is simpler: the company’s policies leave the buyer with considerable exposure if delivery, quality, service, or resale expectations are not met.
What remains unknown
The public record still does not answer several questions a serious luxury buyer would normally ask:
- How many of the 147 Victory Tourbillons were actually produced and delivered?
- What is the independent assay of the gold content?
- What is the total diamond carat weight, and are there independent grading reports?
- Where were the case, bracelet, buckle, stones, assembly, and final finishing produced?
- What level of finishing does the TX07 receive in this specific watch?
- Who provides movement service and replacement parts?
- What is the complete licensing agreement, royalty formula, and gross sales figure?
- What is the watch’s resale performance, if any?
- Why do individual product pages show sold out while the collection page retains pre-order language?
Those gaps do not prove the watch is a bad object. They do prevent a buyer from independently reconstructing the price or assessing long-term ownership risk.
A practical scorecard for the $100,000 price
| Criterion | What the evidence supports | Financial judgment |
|---|---|---|
| Horological substance | A real Swiss-supplied tourbillon appears to be present, but it is not documented as an in-house or exceptionally finished movement. | Some genuine substance; weak public support for a six-figure premium. |
| Material transparency | Impressive gold and diamond claims, but no cited assay, total diamond carat weight, or independent stone reports. | Insufficient information to verify the material premium. |
| Design coherence | Deliberately maximalist, politically branded, and visually conspicuous. | Entirely subjective; strong value only for a buyer who wants that identity. |
| Provenance | Identifiable movement supplier, but a newly formed seller and incomplete production chain. | Thin compared with established high-horology brands. |
| Consumer protection | No refunds, narrow warranty, buyer-paid insured returns, uncertain delivery, and arbitration terms. | Weak for a $100,000 purchase. |
| Collectibility | Limited numbering and celebrity-political provenance. | Scarcity is not proof of resale demand or investment value. |
| Commercial meaning | Trump licensing, political branding, and $4.7 million in disclosed royalties. | The celebrity identity is not incidental; it is central to the economics. |
So, is “tragic” fair?
That depends on the standard. If the standard is whether the watch contains a functioning mechanical complication and some real precious materials, calling it fake or worthless is unjustified. The available evidence points to a genuine Swiss-supplied tourbillon, real gold claims, real diamond claims, and a product that has been marketed and sold as a collectible.
If the standard is whether the watch offers transparent, defensible, high-horology value for $100,000, the case is much weaker. The movement appears to be a relatively ordinary outsourced component in the context of six-figure watchmaking. The precious-material claims are not sufficiently detailed for independent valuation. The full manufacturing chain is unclear. The warranty and refund terms are poor. And the watch’s scarcity and resale value have not been demonstrated.
The tragedy is the collision of those facts. The watch takes the vocabulary of presidential power, luxury, scarcity, and mechanical prestige and compresses it into a licensing product sold by a newly formed, opaque entity. It uses enough real watchmaking to avoid being dismissed as a fake, but not enough disclosed watchmaking to make the $100,000 price self-evident. Then the later financial disclosure reveals that the performance of wealth and loyalty generated $4.7 million in royalties for the man whose name dominates the dial.
That is a more accurate criticism than the original jokes about a Chinese or counterfeit watch: the problem is not that there is no real mechanism inside. The problem is that the mechanism is subordinate to the performance surrounding it.
The Bottom Line
Bottom line: Trump’s $100,000 Victory Tourbillon appears to be a genuine Trump-branded watch containing a Swiss-supplied BCP tourbillon movement. It is not established to be fake, entirely Chinese, or worthless. But the seller’s disclosures do not explain a $100,000 horological value, and the no-refund policy, narrow warranty, opaque production chain, and uncertain resale market make it a high-risk luxury purchase. Its most consequential feature may not be the tourbillon at all: Trump’s 2026 financial disclosure says the licensing arrangement generated $4.7 million in personal royalties.
