In the U.S., Kelley Blue Book’s current guide estimates put a 2024 Tesla Model 3 at $30,000 for resale or $29,600 as a trade-in, and a 2024 Model Y at $32,200 for resale or $29,900 as a trade-in. These are estimates accessed October 8, 2026—not guaranteed sale prices or dealer offers. The figures cover only these two models; a specific car’s value depends on its trim, mileage, options, condition, location, and how it is sold.
Current estimates for 2024 Tesla Model 3 and Model Y
Kelley Blue Book (KBB) reports the following U.S.-market estimates, accessed October 8, 2026. Resale and trade-in are separate transaction estimates, not interchangeable prices.

Edmunds displays broader used-value ranges for these model years: $26,112–$44,314 for a 2024 Model 3 and $27,603–$43,499 for a 2024 Model Y. Edmunds says condition, mileage, and options affect the range. These are a different publisher’s estimates and should not be averaged with KBB figures; their displayed measures, inputs, and valuation methods may differ. Why your Tesla may be worth more or less
A model-year estimate is not a personalized appraisal. Edmunds says its Tesla valuation draws on dealer transaction data, depreciation costs for unique vehicles, and consumer information. Its listed inputs include year, model, trim, mileage, depreciation, and features. Edmunds valuation methodology

The estimates above do not establish a value for an individual vehicle or explain local market adjustments. For a number you can act on, obtain a current vehicle-specific appraisal.
Resale estimate versus trade-in offer
A resale estimate relates to selling the car; a trade-in estimate relates to offering it to a dealer as part of another vehicle purchase. Edmunds describes trade-in value as what a dealer may offer when you trade a vehicle toward another one. Tesla’s trade-in process asks owners to submit vehicle details for an offer. Tesla says that, where applicable, a trade-in value may be subtracted from the new Tesla purchase price before state sales tax is calculated. How to get a useful value for your car
- Identify the vehicle precisely. Record model year, Model 3 or Model Y, trim, and equipment.
- Record its condition and mileage. Use the current odometer reading and describe the vehicle accurately when requesting an estimate.
- Choose the transaction you are considering. Look for a resale estimate if selling yourself, or trade-in estimates and dealer offers if trading it in.
- Request personalized estimates and compare like with like. Enter the same vehicle details into an appraisal tool such as Edmunds’ Tesla valuation page, then compare the result with an actual offer through Tesla’s trade-in process or another dealer.
- Check the figures again when you are ready to act. The estimates are date-specific snapshots; market values can change.
What the resale award does—and does not—tell you

The available current benchmarks here cover the 2024 Model 3 and Model Y only. They do not establish values for the Model S or Model X, other model years, or vehicles outside the U.S. Those owners need a quote specific to their vehicle and market.
