Hadiqa, the rooftop bar and restaurant at Hibernian Place in Perth CBD, closed after six years when its lease expired. In a statement reported by PerthNow on February 4, 2025, its operator, Sneakers & Jeans, said it would focus on new projects and shift beyond the CBD. That did not confirm a new Hadiqa location.
Why did Hadiqa close?
PerthNow reported on February 4, 2025, that Hadiqa had called its last drinks after six years of operation. A spokesperson for management group Sneakers & Jeans attributed the closure to the lease expiring: “With our lease expiring, we’ll be focusing on exciting new projects, with a strategic shift beyond the CBD.” PerthNow’s report does not name the spokesperson or give the lease’s exact expiry date or terms.
The operator’s planned shift beyond the CBD refers to its future projects; it is not evidence that Hadiqa itself relocated. The statement did not identify a new Hadiqa venue, name the projects, or say when they would open.
Where was Hadiqa, and when did it open?
Hadiqa was a Middle Eastern-inspired rooftop bar and restaurant in Hibernian Place, on the corner of Hay and Irwin streets in Perth CBD. PerthNow reported that it opened in mid-2018, with Andy Freeman associated with its launch. The venue’s name was inspired by the Arabic word for “garden,” and its design used greenery and colour to create an urban-oasis feel. Its cocktails and spice-infused menu made it a destination for after-work drinks, New Year’s Eve events and weddings. PerthNow

Is Hadiqa still closed?
The closure was reported in February 2025. The Rooftop Guide’s Hadiqa page, last updated June 26, 2026, labels the venue closed. The Rooftop Guide listing is the later explicit status reference available here.
Perth Localista’s listing, marked updated October 7, 2026, still displays opening hours and a “Book Now” link. That directory entry conflicts with the closure report and the later closed listing; its booking details do not establish that Hadiqa reopened.

Does the closure mean Hadiqa’s liquor licence moved?
Not on the evidence available. Western Australian Government guidance explains the general process for applying to remove a liquor licence to new premises, but it does not establish that Hadiqa or Sneakers & Jeans applied to move a licence. The government’s removal-of-licence guidance is about the general process, not this venue’s circumstances. The available sources also do not establish who later occupied Hadiqa’s former site.
