Google announced its 2024 Holiday 100 on November 12, 2024, as a list of 100 gift ideas based on Google Search trends—not a hands-on test or a ranking of the best products. The announcement confirms the guide’s broad categories, but it does not identify a travel-specific 2024 product lineup. Google’s live travel-gift page now shows examples for a later year, so those items should not be presented as verified 2024 picks.
What the 2024 Holiday 100 says about travel gifts
Google described the Holiday 100 as an annual gift guide built from Google Search trends and its Shopping graph. Editorial and Creative Lead Sagal Mohammed said the list was intended “to help you get inspired and take the guesswork out of gifting.” That makes it a source of gift ideas and trend signals, not evidence that Google tested products or determined which ones perform best.

The November 12, 2024 announcement covers broad categories including apparel, accessories, home and garden, electronics, toys and games, beauty, and health and wellness. It does not name a travel-specific 2024 collection or enumerate travel products. Google’s 2023 Holiday 100 announcement explicitly included travel among its categories, but that does not establish what appeared in the 2024 guide.
Why current Google travel gifts are not proof of 2024 picks
Google’s live collection is titled “Gifts for the One Who Travels” and describes essential travel gear and gadgets. It currently offers examples including a packing cube set, a Samsonite Outline Pro Carry-On, and a TUMI Split Travel Kit. The page has moved on to later-year content; its current products are useful examples of travel-gift types, but they cannot be attributed to the 2024 Holiday 100.

Google’s 2024 announcement says 41% of holiday shoppers struggle to find the perfect gift because they lack inspiration. It also describes a Shopping graph dataset containing 45 billion product listings; that figure is Google’s own description, not an independent audit. A separate 2023 Google/Ipsos U.S. Holiday Shopping Survey reported that 41% of 853 surveyed holiday shoppers found shopping difficult because they needed more gift ideas. These figures concern the broader gift-shopping challenge, not demand for specific travel products.
How to choose a useful travel gift
If you are shopping for someone who travels often, match the gift to how they travel rather than relying on a trend list alone. Check current product specifications and availability with the manufacturer or retailer before comparing particular models.

- This card is non-reloadable. No cash or ATM access. Funds do not expire. If available funds remain on your card after the valid thru date has passed, please call customer service for a replacement card. A one-time purchase fee applies at the time of checkout. No fees after purchase.
- To access your card information safely, type the complete website address shown on your Gift Card (MyGift.GiftCardMall.com) directly into your browser's address bar. Don't use search engines or shortened versions of the website address, as these may lead you to fake or fraudulent sites. Do not provide any Gift Card details (example: Card Number) to someone you do not know or trust. If you believe you've reached an illegitimate website, contact cardholder service at 1-888-524-1283. Be cautious of phishing sites, there are a variety of scams in which fraudsters try to trick others into paying with gift cards.
- To report your Lost or Stolen Physical Visa Card, call Customer Service 24/7 at 1 (888) 524-1283 to cancel your Gift Card as soon as you can. You will be asked to provide the Gift Card number and other identifying information.
- Use your Visa Gift Card in the U.S. everywhere Visa debit cards are accepted, including online.
- Packing cubes: Compare the number and sizes of cubes, compression style, material, and whether the set fits the recipient’s luggage.
- Carry-on luggage: Check external dimensions, capacity, weight, wheel and handle design, warranty, and the airline requirements relevant to the recipient’s routes.
- Toiletry kits: Consider size, compartment layout, whether the recipient prefers a hanging or flat kit, care requirements, and the toiletries they typically carry.
These are practical comparison points, not product-test findings. The available information does not establish a best model, a price leader, or a hands-on recommendation.
