On Monday, March 16, 2026, the APGJSA-attributed benchmark for 24-karat gold in Pakistan was Rs522,762 per tola, down Rs1,800 from the previous trading day. Silver was Rs8,441 per tola, down Rs100. These are historical rates for March 16, not today’s prices.

Contemporaneous reports attributed the following benchmarks to the All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association (APGJSA). The reported changes are against the previous trading day.

Mettis Global and an UrduPoint report carrying an APP dispatch published the same March 16 gold and silver figures and changes. Mettis Global’s March 16 report and UrduPoint’s dispatch attribute the local benchmarks to APGJSA. Pakistan Revenue also reported the same local rates.
How to use these rates when comparing a quote
An association-attributed benchmark is not a guaranteed price at a particular jewellery shop or bullion dealer. Actual quotes can vary by city and market with supply, demand and currency movements; a jewellery transaction may also include workmanship or a dealer premium. The reports do not give verified prices from individual sellers.

- Match the metal and purity: 24-karat and 22-karat rates are not interchangeable.
- Compare the same unit: a per-tola price is not the same as a 10-gram price.
- Check the quote date and whether the figure is a market benchmark or a seller’s retail quote.
- Ask whether any workmanship charge or dealer premium is included.
Why some March 16 search results show a different gold rate
A Pakistan Observer page labeled March 16 displays Rs524,562 per tola, but its history table ends on March 14. Mettis Global and the UrduPoint dispatch identify Rs524,562 as the previous trading day’s 24-karat gold rate; both give Rs522,762 per tola for March 16. The dated, contemporaneous figures therefore support Rs522,762 as the March 16 rate.
For an international reference, UrduPoint reported APGJSA’s March 16 figure as gold at $5,000 per ounce, down $18, and silver at $79.57 per ounce, down $1. Mettis Global separately described spot gold near $4,993 per ounce. These are different reported observations and should not be treated as one agreed international price.
