A farewell posted by the business remembered him for his design vision and personal warmth. The report did not state his age, when he died or the cause of death.
Who was Greg Goodrick?
Goodrick founded Zomp Shoez, opening its first boutique in Perth’s Trinity Arcade in 1972, according to PerthNow. The retailer became known for premium women’s fashion footwear.
PerthNow reported that Zomp expanded in the early 2000s to Claremont and to Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane. That account describes the business’s retail history; it does not provide a store count.
What did Zomp say about its founder?
In a farewell caption reproduced by PerthNow, Zomp called Goodrick “someone truly legendary” and “the beloved founder of Zomp Shoez.” The post described him as “a storyteller through design” whose vision connected with customers and friends across Australia, New Zealand and beyond.

The business also remembered his love of women’s fashion footwear and his warmth toward the people he met. It ended: “Though we will never fill your shoes, your legacy will live on forever Greg — in every step, every style, and every heart you’ve touched.” The words were published as a business social-media farewell; PerthNow did not attribute them to a named individual.
What is known about Zomp’s later history?
In November 2020, SmartCompany reported that Zomp planned to close its remaining stores after nearly 50 years in business. Business News also reported the planned closures that month. Those reports describe plans at the time, not a verified account of what happened afterward.
