Global Airlines has not announced a confirmed start date or timetable for regular scheduled passenger service in the latest information available here. Its most recent reported aircraft milestone is a plan to position its Airbus A380 for a 12-year maintenance check by the end of 2026—not a launch date. Global Airlines is a UK airline startup founded in 2021 by James Asquith, according to the company. Its business plan centers on the Airbus A380, with proposed First, Business and Global Traveller cabins. The company describes its mission as “We want to deliver the Best Way to Fly.” That is an ambition, not evidence of an operating scheduled service.

Global Airlines identifies aircraft 9H-GLOBL as its first fully acquired A380. In a May 2, 2024 announcement, the company said the aircraft had arrived at Glasgow Prestwick and would undergo interior refurbishment and maintenance ahead of passenger operations. That announcement describes the intended next steps at the time; it is not confirmation that scheduled passenger service began.

Flights completed
Global Airlines says its aircraft has completed 20 test, repositioning and customer flights since May 2024. This is the company’s combined count, published on its homepage; it is not an independently audited statistic and should not be read as 20 scheduled commercial passenger flights.
The company also says four flights to New York JFK from Glasgow and Manchester took place in May 2025, operated by Hi Fly. These are completed flights, but they do not show that Global Airlines launched a recurring route or began selling regular tickets.

What is the latest maintenance update?
CAPA reported on June 5, 2026, and Aviation Week reported on June 4, 2026, that Global Airlines planned to position the A380 for its 12-year check by the end of 2026. Both reports describe a target, not confirmation that the check had started or been completed. CAPA said Global cited constrained maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) availability.
In a statement quoted by CAPA, the company said: “We have a 12-year slot lined up… MRO availability and capacity is extremely stretched at the moment. It’s a little bit frustrating that we are behind the timescale that we wanted because of reasons very much outside our control”. CAPA did not identify an individual speaker, so the comment should be attributed to Global Airlines rather than to a named executive.

Who operates the flights, and does Global have its own certificate?
The May 2025 New York flights were operated by Hi Fly, according to Global Airlines. CAPA reported in June 2026 that Global described Hi Fly as a continuing partner while saying it was keeping options open on obtaining its own air operator certificate (AOC). The information available here does not establish that Global holds its own AOC. Aircraft ownership and operating a flight are distinct: the company identifies 9H-GLOBL as its acquired aircraft, while Hi Fly operated the cited May 2025 flights.
What would the passenger experience include?
Global Airlines’ experience page outlines proposed catering, entertainment, seating and amenity-kit features. The company says its vision draws on feedback from the May 2025 flights. These are descriptions of an intended product, not confirmation of a currently bookable service or a promise that every proposed feature is available on future flights.

The information available does not establish a confirmed date for regular scheduled service, a current timetable, or a currently bookable regular route. It also does not establish a second acquired aircraft or a confirmed route network. Because maintenance progress, certification and launch plans can change, travelers should check Global Airlines’ current official updates before making plans. A flight described as a test, repositioning or customer flight is not, on its own, evidence of a scheduled route open to the public.
