The reported Walmart+ Black Friday 2025 deal was $49 for one year—50% off the $98 annual price—for new members, through December 2, 2025. That promotion has expired. Walmart currently lists a separate $49 annual or $6.47 monthly rate for qualifying government assistance recipients and college students.
What was the Walmart+ 50% off offer for Black Friday 2025?
A November 10, 2025 report by Tom’s Guide said new Walmart+ members could get one year for $49, rather than the reported $98 annual price, through December 2, 2025. The promotion is over; it is not a current checkout offer. The price, new-member restriction and end date come from that contemporaneous report, not an official Walmart announcement for this specific promotion.

Walmart also announced a separate $49 annual offer in 2024, but that earlier promotion does not establish the 2025 deal’s terms.
Could Walmart+ members get early access to 2025 Black Friday deals?
Yes. Axios’s report on Walmart’s 2025 sale schedule said paid members received early access to several events. These shopping dates explain the seasonal value of membership, but they do not verify who qualified for, or the terms of, the separate $49 membership promotion.

What Walmart+ costs now for eligible students and assistance recipients
As of October 8, 2026, Walmart’s membership page lists a discounted rate of $49 per year or $6.47 per month for qualifying government assistance recipients and college students. This is a separate, eligibility-based offer, not a continuation of the expired Black Friday 2025 promotion.

Who may qualify
Walmart’s terms describe Assist for people eligible for specified government assistance programs. Student is for qualifying undergraduate or advanced-degree students enrolled at a Title IV-accredited U.S. college or university who reside in the United States. Verification may be required. Verified status lasts one year; if a member does not pass annual re-verification, the plan renews at then-current membership prices plus applicable taxes unless canceled first.
Walmart says discounted programs, their availability, eligibility requirements and discount amounts may change without notice. Check the enrollment page and terms for current eligibility and pricing before signing up.

Walmart’s current membership page lists benefits subject to eligibility, terms and exclusions. These are current details and should not be read as a definitive list of what the 2025 promotion included.
- Delivery: Free delivery on eligible orders with a $35 minimum.
- Shipping: Free next-day and two-day shipping, subject to Marketplace and other exclusions.
- Streaming: A choice of one ad-supported Peacock Premium or Paramount+ Essential service every 90 days, with registration and terms.
- Fuel: The page advertises 10 cents per gallon at participating Walmart, CITGO, Exxon, Mobil and Murphy stations. Savings vary, and terms apply in some locations.
How to decide whether the current membership is worth it
Base the decision on benefits you expect to use, rather than assuming the membership will save a set amount. Consider how often you place eligible delivery orders that meet the $35 minimum, whether shipping exclusions affect your purchases, and whether a participating fuel station or the streaming choice is useful to you. Early-access sale dates can also matter if you shop during those events, but they do not guarantee a lower price on any particular item.

Compare those likely uses with the rate you qualify for and verify current terms before enrollment. The $49 annual rate is not available to everyone on the basis of the expired 2025 promotion; Walmart currently lists it for qualifying students and government assistance recipients.
