Those reports are historical: a current opening or application route for the luxury-tester job has not been verified.
Was the $97,000 luxury-tester job real?
Two news reports published on February 7, 2019 described Hush Hush, a luxury-shopping marketplace, as seeking a full-time luxury product tester. The reports are evidence that the position was advertised at the time; they do not establish whether it was filled, how long it remained open, or whether the job still exists.
The salary figures were reported in 2019, not confirmed as a current wage. Matador Network gave the figure as £75,000 per year and rendered it as $97,000 in its headline. ClickOrlando reported approximately $97,000 per year. They are accounts of the same reported role, not evidence of two separate jobs.

What would the tester have done?
The role was described as product evaluation and reporting, not simply a paid luxury vacation. The tester would assess goods for qualities such as style, comfort, performance, and suitability for the marketplace, then prepare a report before an item was listed for sale.
Goods and experiences named in the reporting
- Yachts and aircraft
- Fashion, art, and jewelry
- Properties and private islands
The reports also described extensive travel, particularly to review properties and private islands. They do not provide a reliable schedule, a count of trips, or details about how travel expenses would be handled.

Can you apply for the job now?
A current opening for the 2019 luxury product-tester role has not been verified. The two reports describing it were published in 2019, and the available current pages for organizations using similar Hush/HushHush names do not establish that those organizations are the luxury marketplace from the reports. A similar name alone is not proof of the same employer.
That does not prove the original job never existed or that no comparable role could be advertised today. It means there is no confirmed current vacancy or official application route to rely on. Do not assume an old listing or application link is still active.

How to check a listing before applying
- Find the employer’s official website independently and look for a current careers or jobs page, rather than relying only on a reposted headline or archived listing.
- Confirm that the employer is the same business described in the vacancy, including its legal or trading identity and contact details; do not infer a connection from a similar name.
- Check that the listing gives current duties, location or eligibility requirements, employment status, compensation terms, and a verifiable way to apply.
- Ask how travel is arranged and paid for, and whether the stated salary is fixed pay or depends on other conditions. The 2019 reports do not settle those details.
The evidence supports treating the headline as a description of a reported 2019 job offer—not as a current job lead. It does not support calling the historical position fraudulent.
