IPS Airways announced flights from Leeds Bradford Airport to Islamabad in 2022, but the planned service was delayed and its inaugural flight was later reported cancelled. The company subsequently proposed seasonal Manchester–Islamabad charter flights operated by another airline. Companies House records IPS Airways Limited as dissolved on 14 April 2026, and the available reporting does not establish that either plan became a sustained service.
Did IPS Airways ever fly from Leeds Bradford to Pakistan?
The evidence supports an announced route, not a confirmed launch. On 14 June 2022, aviation schedule publisher AeroRoutes reported that IPS Airways had opened reservations for a proposed three-times-weekly Leeds Bradford–Islamabad service, with Airbus A330 aircraft planned. The proposed start was 7 August 2022. AeroRoutes’ schedule report records what the airline planned to offer; it is not evidence that flights operated.
On 5 August, AeroRoutes reported that the start had been delayed. Reservations were unavailable as of 4 August, and the airline expected to begin in October. Its update documents the postponement, not a later launch. Business Traveller subsequently reported that the planned inaugural service had been cancelled shortly before departure. Business Traveller’s report is evidence of a cancellation, not a record of flights completed.
No reliable published count of IPS Airways flights or passengers is established by these sources. The advertised frequency should therefore not be read as proof that the airline carried passengers on the route.

What routes did IPS Airways announce?
The June 2022 schedule report listed three proposed routes, all with Airbus A330 aircraft planned. These were published plans, not confirmed operating services.
| Proposed route | Announced frequency | Evidence status |
|---|---|---|
| Leeds Bradford–Islamabad | Three times weekly | Proposed for August 2022; later delayed, with the planned inaugural service reported cancelled. |
| East Midlands–Islamabad | Once weekly | Listed in the June 2022 schedule report; the available sources do not establish that it operated. |
| East Midlands–Lahore | Once weekly | Listed in the June 2022 schedule report; the available sources do not establish that it operated. |
All three routes and frequencies come from AeroRoutes’ 14 June 2022 report. The schedule does not establish that seats were ultimately sold or that passengers flew.

What was the later Manchester–Islamabad plan?
In 2024, IPS Airways proposed seasonal charter flights between Manchester and Islamabad, a different plan from its earlier scheduled Leeds Bradford service. Aviation news outlet ch-aviation reported that flights were to begin on 23 August 2024 and run three times weekly through January 2025. Germany’s USC was to operate them using an Airbus A340-600. The report described IPS as a virtual carrier and noted that launch plans had already been postponed twice.
In this arrangement, USC—not IPS Airways—was identified as the operator of the aircraft. The report establishes a proposed charter schedule, not that the entire schedule ran or that any particular flight operated. It does not supply a completed-flight or passenger total.

Why a route announcement does not prove an airline can operate it
In the UK, an airline’s ability to announce a service is distinct from holding the approvals required to operate it. The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) says that a UK-based operator carrying passengers or cargo for remuneration generally needs an operating licence, and that an operating-licence holder needs a valid Air Operator Certificate (AOC) to demonstrate operational safety. Some operations also require route licences. The CAA’s licensing guidance outlines these general requirements.
For scheduled commercial flights to a third country, the CAA says an airline also needs designation by the Secretary of State under the relevant air services agreement, in addition to a route licence. A route licence alone does not guarantee designation. The CAA’s route-licence guidance explains the distinction.
