Gameplay Galaxy announced a $12.8 million seed round on September 7, 2022, led by Blockchain Capital. The company said the funding would support a Web3 competitive-gaming ecosystem starting with its Trial Xtreme franchise. The initial round is not the company’s last reported financing: in August 2024, The Block reported an $11.17 million seed extension and said total funding had reached $24 million.
How much did Gameplay Galaxy raise, and who invested?
Gameplay Galaxy announced the $12.8 million seed round on September 7, 2022. Blockchain Capital led it. The company named Merit Circle, Mysten Labs, Solana Ventures, Com2uS, Yield Guild Games and Hustle Fund as participants. Gameplay Galaxy’s announcement described the financing as support for building a decentralized competitive-gaming ecosystem.
The announcement establishes the amount and named investors, but does not provide a breakdown of how much each investor contributed. Those figures describe the 2022 seed round, not the company’s later reported cumulative funding.
How the funding story changed in 2024
On August 27, 2024, The Block reported that Gameplay Galaxy had raised an $11.17 million seed extension co-led by Blockchain Capital and Merit Circle. The report said the extension brought total funding to $24 million and put the company’s valuation at $71 million, citing CEO Doron Kagan. These are figures reported at that time, not verified current funding or valuation figures. The Block described the extension as equity with token warrants.

The Block’s coverage also said the company was developing Trial Xtreme Freedom as its inaugural Web3 title. Do not add the $12.8 million and $11.17 million and present the result as a verified current total: the reported $24 million total already accounts for funding after the extension, and no later total is established here.
What Gameplay Galaxy proposed to build
Announced Web3 ecosystem
In 2022, Gameplay Galaxy said players would be able to own digital items represented as NFTs, including vehicles, racetracks and characters, and trade them through a decentralized marketplace. The company also described workshops, tournament competition and the ability to host events as parts of the ecosystem. These were announced plans and proposed mechanics; the announcement does not confirm that every feature became available.

Trial Xtreme Freedom
The Block’s August 2024 account described track ownership and bike crafting and upgrades in Trial Xtreme Freedom, which was then in development. It also quoted Kagan saying that Web3 elements would be optional. Development descriptions and company plans are not proof that these features have shipped.
Gameplay Galaxy’s current site describes the business as a multi-game studio, links to Trial Xtreme and says the game moved from soft launch toward a global-ready platform, with an “epic 2026 launch” ahead. That language presents a planned launch, not confirmation of a completed global release. The site also says Trial Xtreme and Duels have more than 300 million downloads combined, but gives no measurement date or methodology; treat that as a company claim, not an independently verified current count. What the company said about its gaming experience
In its September 2022 announcement, Gameplay Galaxy said its earlier Trial Xtreme ecosystem had a quarter billion downloads. The company also reported that 85% of paying users consumed bike upgrades and customization, and 60% chose customized outfits. It said tournaments in which players represented countries generated an average of 20 additional races, and that players spent more than 20 times the first-place prize in coins. These are historical company-reported figures; the post gives no measurement period or methodology. They should not be treated as independently audited results or combined directly with the current site’s differently scoped download claim.
Kagan characterized the project as a way to use Web3 for a more interactive gaming experience. Blockchain Capital founder and managing partner Bart Stephens said his firm was backing the team based on its Trial Xtreme track record and its plans for Web3 gaming. Both statements appeared in the company announcement and represent the speakers’ views, not independent evaluations.

What the financing does—and does not—establish
The funding announcements document investor support and the company’s stated ambitions. They do not, on their own, show that the proposed NFT marketplace, ownership features or tournament mechanics were delivered, nor do they establish the financial performance of the games. For readers evaluating the project, keep three things distinct: the 2022 seed amount, the 2024 extension and reported totals, and product plans versus features confirmed as available.
