GameStop’s reported PS5 restock was scheduled for July 23, 2022, and was described as an in-person sale at participating local stores—not an online restock. The notice said quantities would be limited and required PowerUp Rewards Pro membership. Not every store was guaranteed to participate, so shoppers were advised to check with their local GameStop. These are historical terms, not a current restock alert.
How the July 23 restock was supposed to work
LEVEL UP reported on July 22, 2022 that GameStop planned to sell PS5 bundles starting the next day. It quoted a GameStop notice: “Visit your local GameStop for a chance to get one in person, must be a PowerUp Rewards Pro Member, quantities will be limited.” LEVEL UP’s July 22 report and a same-day PlayStation LifeStyle update both described the event as a July 23, in-store bundle sale requiring Pro membership.
- Where: In person at local GameStop stores; the report did not describe an online sale.
- Who could buy: The notice said shoppers had to be PowerUp Rewards Pro members.
- How many: Quantities were limited.
- Which stores: Participation was not guaranteed at every location. LEVEL UP advised checking with a local store.
The reports do not establish which stores participated or how many consoles each location received.
What the reports do—and do not—say about bundles
The July 22 reports identify the offer as PS5 bundles but do not establish the July 23 bundle contents or prices. Do not assume that details published for a different GameStop event applied: GameSpot’s report covered an August 19–20, 2022 event with different membership rules by day, and some bundle information was described as leaks. GameSpot’s August coverage concerns that separate event, not the July 23 sale.

Membership cost was a historical figure, not a current quote
LEVEL UP reported a PowerUp Rewards Pro starting price of $14.99 per year and a $5 monthly reward certificate, described as $60 annually. Those were figures reported on July 22, 2022; they are not verified current prices or membership terms. The July sale notice’s membership requirement should likewise be understood as a condition reported for that event, not as guidance about current GameStop restocks. LEVEL UP’s report

The July 23, 2022 announcement is a historical snapshot. It does not establish current GameStop inventory, a current restock schedule, present membership requirements, or present product prices. Anyone shopping now needs a current, date-specific confirmation from GameStop; the old notice cannot establish whether a nearby store has a PS5.
