That deal offered up to $300 for selected last-generation consoles and ended November 28, 2021. Today’s trade-in amount depends on the exact console, its condition and components, and current store terms.
What the $300 GameStop trade-in offer covered
MobileSyrup reported the following promotional values on November 15, 2021. The promotion was in-store only, excluded the Xbox One S Digital Console, and ended November 28, 2021. These figures are historical, not current quotes.
| Console model | Reported 2021 promotional value |
|---|---|
| PS4 Pro Console 1TB | $300 |
| PS4 Slim 1TB | $250 |
| PS4 Slim 500GB | $250 |
| Xbox One X 1TB | $250 |
| Original PS4 500GB | $200 |
| Xbox One S 2TB | $200 |
| Xbox One S 1TB | $200 |
| Xbox One S 500GB | $200 |
MobileSyrup’s November 15, 2021 report described the offer as a gift card promotion. It does not establish what GameStop will pay for those consoles now.
How much might GameStop offer today?
There is no single current value for every PS4 or Xbox One. GameStop says trade-ins are limited to select products and stores; items must be in good condition and include necessary components to qualify for the highest value. The retailer determines condition and final value. Check GameStop’s trade-in page and confirm availability with the store before making a trip.

Model-specific quote pages show how much values can vary and distinguish store credit from cash. For context—not as current or guaranteed prices—a GameStop PS4 Slim 1TB quote generated October 1, 2026 displayed up to $75 in regular store credit or $82.50 in Pro store credit, and expired at the end of that business day. An Xbox One 1TB quote generated September 10, 2026 displayed up to $50 in regular store credit or $55 in Pro store credit, also expiring that day. A separate Xbox One 500GB page displayed $0.01. These dated examples are not October 8, 2026 quotes or promises of payment; the model quote pages should be checked for a fresh estimate.

What to do before trading in a console
- Identify the exact console. Check whether it is a PS4, PS4 Slim, PS4 Pro, Xbox One, Xbox One S, or Xbox One X, along with its storage capacity and variant. Different models received different values in the 2021 offer.
- Check the live quote and store participation. Look up the exact model and confirm that your local store accepts it. A quote can change or expire, and trade-ins are not available for every product at every store.
- Gather the included parts. GameStop’s trade-in FAQ says to bring the original controller, power cable, HDMI cable, and other included cords or chargers. Missing parts may lower the value or lead to rejection. If a cable or accessory is missing, ask the store whether a replacement is acceptable before buying one.
- Confirm how you will be paid. Compare the quoted cash amount with store credit, and check whether a Pro credit offer applies. The value you receive may matter differently depending on whether you already plan to spend that credit at GameStop.
- Expect an in-store check. GameStop makes the final decision on eligibility and value after evaluating the console and its components.
