That was the end date for the promotional pricing—not, according to a clarification reported by iPhone in Canada, the end of Canada-U.S.-Mexico roaming. The offer is historical and should not be treated as currently available.
Was Freedom’s $35/50GB plan still available after January 27?
No. MobileSyrup reported that Freedom Mobile had marked the $35/month, 50GB Canada-U.S.-Mexico promotion to end on January 27, 2025. Freedom’s current promotional listings show different offers, so the $35/50GB deal is not a current offer. MobileSyrup’s January 24, 2025 report and Freedom’s current promotions page provide the relevant historical and current context.
Which promotions were reported to end?
MobileSyrup listed four Canada-U.S.-Mexico promotions, with both prepaid and postpaid versions marked to end:
| Reported monthly price | Data | Type and geography |
|---|---|---|
| $29 | 10GB | Prepaid and postpaid; Canada/U.S./Mexico |
| $35 | 50GB | Prepaid and postpaid; Canada/U.S./Mexico |
| $45 | 75GB | Prepaid and postpaid; Canada/U.S./Mexico |
| $55 | 100GB | Prepaid and postpaid; Canada/U.S./Mexico |
MobileSyrup said the listed prices included a $5-per-month credit for 18 months and a $5-per-month autopay discount. Those were conditions attached to the reported promotions, not a statement of Freedom’s current prices or terms. See the report for its account of the offers.

Did Freedom end North American roaming?
No—not according to the clarification reported at the time. iPhone in Canada said a Freedom Mobile spokesperson clarified that “the promo pricing is ending, not Canada-US-Mexico roaming.” That distinction means the reported January 27 deadline concerned the promotional prices; it is not evidence that roaming itself was being removed. The report does not establish that every other feature or term stayed unchanged. Read iPhone in Canada’s report.
What should existing customers check before changing plans?
The reports do not establish what happened to each subscriber’s legacy price, credits, data bonuses or other account terms. Check the details attached to your own line before switching or assuming a promotion will remain unchanged.

Freedom’s current Canada-U.S. plan page warns that existing customers may lose bonus-data offers attached to their service if they change to an in-market plan. That is a reason to review your account-specific terms; it does not prove the 2025 promotion was cancelled for existing subscribers. Check Freedom’s current plan information.
Freedom’s Price Freeze Promise describes protection for the wireless plan price before discounts and credits. Its listed exclusions include taxes, levies, pay-per-use charges, passes, add-ons, device financing and other fees. It should not be read as a guarantee that every bill item or temporary credit is frozen. Read the Price Freeze Promise terms.
