Fido and Virgin Plus were reported to offer a $40-per-month, 60GB bring-your-own-phone plan in April 2026, but the promotion ended April 20. As of October 8, 2026, the offer is historical; its return or any current equivalent has not been established.
What the April 2026 offer included
MobileSyrup reported on April 17, 2026, that both carriers had a $40/month plan with 60GB of data for customers bringing their own phone. The report said Fido had replaced its $39/20GB and $44/60GB plans with the promotion, which was available for a few more days. It gave April 20, 2026, as the promotion’s end date. MobileSyrup’s report attributed its plan information to Fido and Virgin Plus but did not reproduce their complete terms.
Contemporaneous reports from iPhone in Canada and Cellulo also listed the $40/60GB plans and placed them in the context of limited-time April offers. Those reports corroborate the historical snapshot, not present-day availability.
Can you still get the $40/60GB plan?
The reported promotion ended April 20, 2026. The available reporting does not establish that either carrier has brought it back, so do not treat $40/60GB as an offer you can currently sign up for. Check the carrier’s live plan terms before switching or budgeting around a similar price.

What to check when comparing a replacement plan
Because the April promotion has expired, compare current offers using the full terms rather than the headline price. Confirm:
- The monthly price after any stated discount and whether it is temporary.
- How much data is included and whether the allowance is for use in Canada only or also includes roaming.
- Whether the plan is bring-your-own-phone or tied to device financing.
- The promotion’s end date and any eligibility or payment conditions.
The April reports are not a current comparison of Fido, Virgin Plus, or Koodo. Verify live carrier terms before deciding to switch.
