FOUND. began welcoming customers to its Subiaco brewpub on a Friday after six months of renovations, according to PerthNow’s report published on 4 December 2024. The report did not give the Friday’s calendar date. The venue took over the former Golden West site on Hay Street.

The brewpub is at 399 Hay Street, Subiaco, at the former Golden West premises. The current OpenTable listing describes indoor and courtyard areas, with food and beer service. Its listed hours vary by day; check the venue’s own channels before visiting because directory details can change.

How the Hay Street site changed hands
Golden West Brewing Co began operating from the Hay Street premises in 2021, according to Pragma Lawyers. The firm said Golden West entered voluntary administration in late February 2024 amid difficult conditions in hospitality and brewing, and that FOUND. acquired Golden West’s assets through a sale.

In its June 2024 newsletter, the City of Subiaco reported that Golden West had served its last schooner at the site and that FOUND. would take over. PerthNow later reported that FOUND. began welcoming customers after six months of renovations.

Design and capacity
PerthNow reported an opening capacity of 350 guests across indoor areas and an outdoor beer garden. That is the figure reported at opening, not a verified current occupancy limit.

Founder Steve Finney described the fit-out as using WA-sourced materials, including Donnybrook stone, WA Karri on the patio, Blackbutt finishes and rust oxide details intended to reference the North West. The material choices gave the venue a local design identity as well as a brewery setting.
Beer and food
The opening coverage said FOUND.’s core-range beers would be brewed at the Subiaco brewpub. It also described a menu featuring Abrolhos scallops and oysters, double-smash-patty cheeseburgers and scotch fillet steaks. These are opening-era details, not confirmation of what is currently on the menu or being brewed on site.

At the time, hospitality director James Pedlow described the venue’s ambition as a “really good pub,” as quoted by PerthNow. A March 2026 review in The West Australian also treated FOUND. as an operating brewpub and offered the reviewer’s assessment of its position in Subiaco’s dining scene; that judgment is opinion, not a measure of the venue’s current service or popularity.
