Equipment Technologies—also known as ET Works, the U.S. business behind Apache self-propelled agricultural sprayers—became part of EXEL Industries in the mid-2010s. EXEL’s official materials disagree on the year: its history page lists 2017, while its 2024–2025 Universal Registration Document places the acquisition in 2016. The business is now best understood as one specialized equipment operation within EXEL’s larger agricultural portfolio, not as a household-sprayer brand.
What is Equipment Technologies?
Equipment Technologies, also styled ET Works, is an Indiana-based agricultural machinery business associated with Apache self-propelled sprayers. EXEL describes Apache as a line of mechanically driven self-propelled agricultural sprayers marketed by ET Works. These are specialized farm machines, not garden or household sprayers. EXEL’s brands page identifies Equipment Technologies and its Apache line.
The names can be easy to confuse: in this context, “Equipment Technologies,” “ET Works” and “Apache” refer to the U.S. sprayer business and its product line within EXEL Industries. They do not refer to unrelated companies with similar-sounding names.
When was Equipment Technologies sold to EXEL Industries?
EXEL’s own publications give different years. Its corporate history page lists the acquisition of ET Works in 2017. The company’s 2024–2025 Universal Registration Document places ET WORKS among its 2016 milestones and says the sprayers were marketed under the Apache brand. The available official material does not explain the one-year difference, so the careful description is that EXEL acquired the business in the mid-2010s, with the source-specific dates noted above.

What does EXEL Industries do?
EXEL is a multi-activity industrial group, not simply the owner of a single sprayer maker. Its portfolio includes agricultural spraying and sugar beet harvesting machinery, industrial spraying, and leisure businesses such as garden and nautical brands. EXEL’s history and registration document trace that broader portfolio through acquisitions including HARDI, AGRIFAC, HOZELOCK, HOLMER, SAMES-related businesses, G.F., Devaux, and the Wauquiez, Rhéa Marine and Tofinou brands. The group history and its overview of industrial spraying describe this diversification.
Within agriculture, Apache is one product line among several. EXEL says that its Exxact Robotics pooled research center, created in 2019, develops automation and AI technologies for its product ranges. That group-level description does not establish that any particular Exxact technology is fitted to Apache machines.

How large is EXEL’s agricultural equipment business?
For fiscal year 2024–2025, EXEL reported €551 million in revenue from its agricultural equipment activity, equal to 56% of total group sales. Those figures apply to the whole activity, not to Equipment Technologies or Apache individually. EXEL does not attribute a separate revenue figure to the acquired business in the cited material. The deal establishes that Equipment Technologies and the Apache sprayer line sit within EXEL Industries’ corporate portfolio. It does not, by itself, establish current dealer coverage, parts availability, warranty terms, service arrangements, or specifications for any particular Apache model. Those are model- and location-specific questions; buyers should confirm them with an authorized source before making a purchasing or maintenance decision.
