MobileSyrup reported that at least one location offered seven Nintendo Switch 2 games for CAD $69.99 each. The promotion was scheduled to end December 31, 2025, and store-level stock and prices could vary.
What was the EB Games “Secret Sale”?
The name referred to specific unadvertised in-store offers at EB Games Canada during Boxing Week 2025. They were distinct from the retailer’s advertised Boxing Week deals. MobileSyrup’s December 26 report relayed information shared by deals aggregator Lbabinz, who cited a Reddit post about a local offer; the retailer had not publicly promoted the specific game prices. MobileSyrup’s report said similar posts from other locations corroborated the offers, but did not identify the store behind the initial report.
| # | Preview | Product | Price | |
|---|---|---|---|---|

|
Mario Kart™ World (Nintendo Switch 2) | $79.00 | Buy on Amazon |
| 2 |

Star Fox™ - Nintendo Switch 2 | $59.00 | Buy on Amazon |
| 3 |
|
Donkey Kong Bananza (Nintendo Switch 2) | $69.00 | Buy on Amazon |
| 4 |
|
Pokémon Pokopia - Nintendo Switch 2 | $69.00 | Buy on Amazon |
Lbabinz described it as an in-store sale with “YMMV”—shorthand for “your mileage may vary”—and reported Switch 2 games at $69.99. That was a dated deal-post description, not an official EB Games statement or a guarantee that every location offered the same items.
Which Switch 2 games were reported at CAD $69.99?
MobileSyrup reported the following prices for new copies. The savings below are the difference between the sale and regular prices cited in that 2025 report; they are not current prices or a guarantee of availability.

| Pokémon Legends: Z-A | CAD $69.99 | CAD $99.99 | CAD $30 |
So the reported offer was not simply $45 off every Switch 2 game: the difference depended on the title’s cited regular price. The report also mentioned discounted Joy-Cons but did not state a price, so no specific controller saving can be confirmed from it.
How long did the promotion run?
A December 22 preview said the Boxing Week campaign began December 26 and was scheduled to end on New Year’s Eve, December 31, 2025. Those dates describe the historical 2025 promotion; they do not establish the timing of any later sale. MobileSyrup’s preview also distinguished the advertised campaign from the separate, unadvertised in-store offers.

Did every EB Games store have the same deals?
No. MobileSyrup cautioned that local availability could vary and that there was no guarantee a reader’s store would carry the same games or prices. Reddit discussions from shoppers described differences in stock and checkout scanning, but these are individual reports, not official retailer terms or proof that an item was available at every location. The Video Game Deals Canada subreddit contains community posts about such offers, including reports that flag stock variation.
The original report did not identify the store where the $69.99 offer was first spotted, and the specific promotion was not backed by a public EB Games listing. Treat the listed prices as reported local sale prices rather than a chain-wide promise.

Is the deal available now?
The reported offer was scheduled to end December 31, 2025. The available reporting does not verify an October 2026 promotion or current inventory, so these historical prices should not be used as a current quote. Check EB Games Canada’s current listings or contact a specific store for any active offer.
For a similar future in-store promotion, confirm the exact game title and Switch 2 edition, whether the copy is new or opened, local stock, and the price that rings up at checkout before making a trip. For a controller offer, verify whether the price is for one Joy-Con or a pair and confirm compatibility with the Switch 2.
