The company says charging takes at least 2.5 hours on a 220–240 V supply. These are company-published figures, and specifications vary by configuration and market.
Eli cautions that actual range depends on passenger and cargo load, air-conditioning use, ambient temperature, terrain, and driving habits. Treat the 60-mile figure as a stated maximum, not a guarantee of the distance a particular driver will achieve. The vehicle’s speed, range, and charging setup also make it important to compare the exact version available in your location rather than assume U.S. and European configurations are identical.
What kind of vehicle is it?
Eli describes the ZERO as a U.S. low-speed vehicle or neighborhood electric vehicle (NEV), and as an L6e light quadricycle in Europe. Those are company descriptions of regulatory categories, not a blanket statement that the vehicle can be registered or driven on every road. Classification, registration, road access, and required equipment depend on the jurisdiction and the specific vehicle approval. Confirm the rules with the relevant local authority before relying on the vehicle for a commute.

The two sources give different approximate valuations. They do not explain the discrepancy, so it should not be resolved by guessing or treated as one definitive valuation. The share price, minimum, fee, bonus, and valuations above are historical campaign details, not a quote for an investment available now.
What to verify before investing
- Confirm there is an active offering. Ask Eli for the current offering document and the legal entity issuing the shares. Confirm the offer is still open, who may invest, and the deadline directly with the issuer or its authorized intermediary.
- Read the governing documents. Check the security being sold, share class, price, fees, voting and information rights, transfer restrictions, dilution provisions, and any conditions for closing. The current signed offering documents—not a past article or investor FAQ—should control the terms.
- Check the company’s latest financial information. Request current financial statements, cash and debt information, and an explanation of how much capital the company has raised and how it has been used. Eli’s investor page said the 2024 extension proceeds were expected to fund operations through Q3 2025 without operating earnings. That projection is now in the past; it does not establish whether Eli raised additional money, met its targets, or has funding today.
- Test operating claims against dated evidence. Ask for dated records supporting production, deliveries, and sales, such as invoices or other transaction evidence, while protecting customer privacy. A production announcement, a reservation count, a pilot, and a delivered vehicle are different milestones.
- Verify approvals for the exact vehicle and location. Request the model-specific certification or approval documents and confirm their significance with the relevant regulator or registration authority. A general company statement about a vehicle category is not a substitute for evidence that a particular version can be registered and used where you live.
What do we know about production and deliveries?
Eli’s 2024 offering memorandum said the company had begun small-volume production, made limited sales in Europe, and delivered vehicles to its first customers. TechCrunch reported in 2021 that Eli had announced production and planned a European distributor rollout. These are dated historical claims: they do not establish present production volume, current deliveries, profitability, or market share. TechCrunch’s report also quoted CEO Marcus Li describing the 2021 sales plan as distributor-led, initially through KSR Group in Austria, Germany, and Switzerland; that statement describes the plan at the time, not necessarily Eli’s current sales channel.

For present-day due diligence, look for evidence tied to a date, model, market, and quantity. Ask whether the claimed vehicles were completed, sold, and delivered; whether they were customer vehicles or demonstrations; and what service and parts support exists in the relevant market. If certification is claimed, obtain the underlying approval and confirm which configuration and jurisdiction it covers. Eli’s investor education page describes vehicle sales through distributors and dealers as the company’s primary revenue source. It lists parts, customization, accessories, and Eli Energy solar products as additional revenue streams. Connectivity services, subscriptions, and extended warranties are presented as future possibilities, not established recurring revenue.

The company said the 2024 extension proceeds would primarily support ZERO production and expansion, with some funds for research and development and general operations. That is a statement of intended use for that historical round, not evidence of how funds were ultimately spent or of the company’s current operating plan.
How large is the market claim?
Eli’s 2024 offering memorandum put the global mini-mobility addressable market at $470 billion and attributed that estimate to McKinsey & Company. The same memorandum attributed to McKinsey the claim that about 60% of car trips are under 8 km. It also stated that 44 million U.S. homes are within two miles of daily amenities. These are figures presented in an issuer document; the original McKinsey publication behind the attributed claims was not established here. They should not be read as a current independent forecast, proof of demand for the ZERO, or evidence that Eli can capture a particular share of that market.

What are the investment risks?
Eli says its shares are not publicly traded, investors should not expect dividends, and investors could lose their entire investment. It also warns that an exit could take years or might never happen. These are company disclosures, not a prediction of what will happen to any individual investor. An investment in a startup is different from buying a listed stock: there may be no ready market to sell shares, and the ability to transfer them may be restricted by the offering terms.
- Liquidity: Without a public market, you may not be able to sell when you want or at a price you consider fair.

Can you buy an Eli ZERO now?
Eli’s official reservation page still lists a $11,990 starting MSRP, a $200 refundable reservation, and an expected 2025 sales window. Because that stated window has passed, those page terms do not confirm current pricing, open reservations, delivery timing, or vehicle availability. Contact Eli or a dealer directly for current terms, and get the price, refund conditions, delivery estimate, and included configuration in writing before paying.
If you are comparing the ZERO with alternatives, compare the specific vehicle versions available where you live—not just headline range or price. Eli’s 2024 offering memorandum named Polaris GEM and Club Car in the U.S., and Citroën Ami, Renault Twizy, Aixam, and Ligier in Europe as competitors. That is Eli’s own competitor set, not an independent comparison. For any alternative, check permitted roads and registration, passenger capacity, real-world range, charging requirements, weather protection, safety and approval evidence, total price and fees, and local dealer and service support.
What this means for a prospective investor
Eli’s ZERO addresses a specific use case: short trips in a small, two-seat electric vehicle. The company’s published specifications and historical fundraising and production statements provide context, but they do not establish a current investment offer or demonstrate Eli’s present financial position and operating scale.
