Eclipse led a $31 million Series A for Ever, an electric-vehicle-focused auto retailer, the company announced February 12, 2026. Ever said the round brought its total funding to approximately $100 million across equity and debt facilities. The financing is intended to support hiring and expansion; it is not evidence by itself that Ever’s retail model or AI tools have delivered independently verified results.
Who invested, and what will the money fund?
Ever described the Series A as oversubscribed. Alongside lead investor Eclipse, the company named Lifeline Ventures, Ibex Investors, Maki VC, Joint Effects, and JIMCO as participants. Ever said it would use the capital to expand engineering and operational capabilities and pursue nationwide growth. Eclipse partner Jiten Behl joined Ever’s board, while Eclipse partner and Head of Growth Joe Fath became a board observer, according to Ever’s February 12 announcement. JIMCO also announced its participation.
Ever put its total funding at approximately $100 million across equity and debt facilities. That is the company’s combined funding figure, not the amount raised in this Series A alone. The announcement did not break down the round’s allocation among individual expansion priorities.
How does Ever’s EV-first retail model work?
Ever presents itself as a full-stack auto retailer that starts with electric vehicles, rather than simply a software company selling tools to other dealerships. Its stated model covers vehicle sourcing, pricing, merchandising, sales, and vehicle operations through a proprietary operating system. Customers can transact online, in person, or through a combination of the two.

That breadth matters to the company’s pitch: the system is meant to coordinate a chain of retail tasks, while Ever itself operates the customer-facing vehicle business. The description reflects Ever’s stated approach; it does not establish that the system is more efficient than competitors’ systems or that every part of a transaction is available in every market.
What is known about Ever’s reach?
At the time of the financing announcement, Ever said it had live operations in San Francisco and customers across 40 states. Those are company-reported figures from February 2026, not independently verified current coverage counts. Ever’s About page, accessed October 8, 2026, lists showrooms in San Francisco and Costa Mesa, California. Showroom locations and service availability can change, so customers should check the company’s current location and transaction information before relying on a particular market being served.

Which performance and market claims need context?
Ever cited a $1.2 trillion U.S. auto-retail market in its announcement. That is the company’s market estimate; an independent primary study supporting that figure was not established in the available reporting. It should be understood as part of Ever’s case for the size of the opportunity, not as a verified measure of its addressable market.
TechCrunch reported CEO Lasse-Mathias Nyberg’s claim that Ever’s approach could produce two to three times the productivity of a traditional sales team. This is an executive claim, not an independently audited operating result. No audited performance comparison or customer-satisfaction survey was established. TechCrunch also described mixed anecdotal feedback in a Reddit discussion, including praise for making EV shopping simpler and complaints about reaching the company; a single discussion cannot establish typical customer experience.

- WORKS WITH EVERY NON-TESLA EV: Standard J1772 connector plugs straight into Ford, Chevrolet, Hyundai, Kia, Nissan, BMW, Volkswagen, Audi, Rivian, Lucid and every other EV or plug-in hybrid sold with a J1772 port - no adapter needed. Tesla drivers can charge too, using the J1772 adapter that comes with the car.
- PLUG IN, NO HARDWIRING: Level 2 charger delivers up to 40A to fully charge most EVs overnight. Plugs into a 240V, 4-prong NEMA 14-50 outlet (the RV/range type - NOT a dryer outlet) on a dedicated 50A circuit. The extra-long 25 ft cable easily reaches across a garage or driveway. Before ordering, check your car's port type and that you have the right outlet.
- CONTROL & SAVE FROM YOUR PHONE: A stronger built-in antenna keeps the charger online even in a garage or basement. Use the free app to start/stop charging, set speed (6-40A), get reminders, and track energy use and cost. Schedule off-peak overnight charging to cut your electric bill. Requires 2.4 GHz WiFi.
- SAFETY-CERTIFIED & WEATHERPROOF: Independently tested and certified (UL, ETL, FCC, Energy Star). A fully sealed IP66 / NEMA 4 housing stands up to rain, snow, heat and dust indoors or out, and internal steel shielding protects the electronics for years of reliable use.
- GLOW-IN-THE-DARK HOLSTER: The included high-visibility holster glows in the dark so you can find and dock the plug easily at night. Holds the connector securely when not in use.
What the funding does—and does not—tell a buyer or seller
The investment gives Ever capital and strategic backing to grow its EV retail operation. It does not, on its own, tell a consumer whether Ever has the right vehicle, price, service, or availability for a particular transaction. If you are considering buying or selling a used EV, first confirm that Ever serves your location, then compare the specific vehicle or offer, transaction terms, and support available with other options. The funding announcement provides no vehicle-level inventory analysis or consumer recommendation.
