It depends on which Amazon card you have. Chase lists the U.S. Prime Visa and Amazon Visa as having no foreign transaction fees. Amazon says its U.S. Bank-issued Amazon Business Card and Prime Business Card also have no foreign transaction fees. Amazon Pay itself does not add a foreign transaction fee, but the issuer of the card you use may. Terms for the Amazon.com Store Card and Amazon Secured Card are not established here, so check the current agreement for those products.
Which Amazon cards have no foreign transaction fees?
Amazon-branded cards come from different issuers, so the answer for one card does not automatically apply to another. The findings below distinguish the consumer Visa cards, business cards and Amazon Pay.

What counts as a foreign transaction?
A purchase does not have to be made while you are physically abroad to raise a foreign transaction fee question. Chase says a fee may apply when a purchase is made in a currency other than U.S. dollars or is routed through a bank outside the United States. The details depend on the card agreement; an international-looking merchant or website by itself does not determine the fee. Source: Chase guidance

How to check your card’s terms
- Identify the exact product. Confirm whether your card is a Prime Visa, Amazon Visa, Prime Business Card, Amazon Business Card, Amazon.com Store Card or Amazon Secured Card. Similar Amazon branding does not mean the cards share an issuer or fee terms.
- Open the agreement for your account. Use the card issuer’s current cardmember agreement or the account documents associated with your card, and look for the foreign transaction fee entry.
- Check the transaction context. Note whether the charge is in a non-U.S. currency or may be processed through a bank outside the United States; those are circumstances Chase identifies as potentially relevant.
- For Amazon Pay, check both sides. Amazon says it does not add this fee, but the issuer of the card selected for payment may impose one. Source: Amazon Pay help
What a sample Amazon Visa agreement can—and cannot—confirm
A sample Amazon Visa Signature agreement hosted by the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau lists the foreign transaction fee as “None” and explains that Visa or Mastercard converts foreign-currency transactions using its currency-conversion procedures. That document corroborates the terms shown in that particular agreement; it is not a substitute for the current agreement attached to every cardholder’s account. Source: CFPB credit card agreements
