What you can shop now
Best Buy’s regular Top Deals section is available year-round, along with “Deal of the Day,” gift ideas, memberships, credit cards, and gift cards. These may still contain worthwhile discounts, but they should be evaluated as ordinary current deals—not as early Cyber Monday prices.
Walmart’s Cyber Monday Savings page is not sufficient evidence that the 2026 event has started. Marketplace pages can combine Walmart inventory with third-party sellers, sponsored placements, membership pricing, reference prices, and changing delivery estimates. Some displayed dates have also been inconsistent with a reliable August shopping snapshot.
How to verify a deal before paying
- Open the product page. Do not rely on a retailer’s campaign page, search result, or URL containing “Cyber Monday.”
- Record the exact model or SKU. Similar televisions, laptops, appliances, or phones may have different specifications and prices.
- Check the seller. On marketplace pages, confirm whether the item is sold by the retailer or by a third-party merchant. Read the seller’s return and warranty terms.
- Confirm the final price. Check for membership requirements, clipped coupons, promotional codes, minimum spending thresholds, and sales tax at checkout.
- Compare the reference price. “Was,” “list,” and “original” prices are not automatically what the product usually sold for. Compare the model across retailers or use a price-history tool.
- Check fulfillment details. Confirm shipping cost, delivery date, pickup availability, and stock.
- Read the return policy. Holiday purchases may have extended windows, but exclusions can apply to marketplace products, opened electronics, clearance items, or activated devices.
- Save evidence. Note the time checked and save a screenshot or cart record. Prices, stock, coupons, and delivery promises can change independently of this article.

How to avoid overspending while waiting
- Set a target price. Decide what the item is worth before browsing. A large percentage discount is irrelevant if the product does not fit your budget.
- Separate needs from event pressure. Cyber Monday is a sales date, not a reason to replace a working device or carry a credit-card balance.
- Include the full cost. Add shipping, accessories, subscriptions, installation, extended warranties, and financing charges.
- Be cautious with “buy now, pay later.” Installments do not reduce a purchase’s price. Missed payments can create fees or other credit consequences, depending on the provider.
- Use a spending limit. A separate savings category or prepaid shopping budget is safer than relying on available credit.
- Do not assume a deal will improve later. But do not buy solely because a countdown clock or low-stock notice creates urgency. Check the product’s history and the retailer’s terms.
When genuine Cyber Monday offers begin
Retailers may publish early-access promotions or announce event pages before November 30. Do not treat an announcement as an active discount until the product page shows a live offer with usable terms. When the event begins, check whether a deal is limited by time, quantity, membership status, store availability, or a required code.
Amazon Ads’ Black Friday and Cyber Monday advertising guidance says references must not mislead shoppers about deal duration and that advertised deals should be live and accurate while the ad runs. A page title, banner, or old promotional copy is not a substitute for a current price at checkout.
Bottom line for shoppers today
No official retailer source reviewed confirms that a 2026 Cyber Monday sale is live as of August 9. Best Buy’s current Top Deals and Walmart’s Cyber Monday-labeled landing page may be useful places to browse, but neither proves that a Cyber Monday promotion is running.

Buy only if the current price is good on its own. Save the model number and today’s price, then compare it again when Cyber Monday promotions are published on or around November 30.

Is Best Buy’s Top Deals page a Cyber Monday sale?
No. Best Buy presents Top Deals as a year-round shopping option. Call a product a Cyber Monday deal only when its current product page identifies an active Cyber Monday promotion.
