For someone outside that Household, Disney’s stated options are to get a separate subscription or, if the plan qualifies, add one Extra Member. In the US, the Extra Member add-on costs $6.99 a month with Disney+ with ads or $9.99 a month with Disney+ Premium, based on Disney’s prices published September 23, 2026.
What Disney+ means by password sharing
Disney defines a Household as “a collection of devices associated with your primary personal residence that are used by the individuals who reside there.” Its sharing guidance says a subscription cannot be shared with people outside that Household. Disney says it detects and establishes the Household using factors that include subscription activity, linked devices, and internet connection. Read Disney’s sharing guidance.
Having a separate profile does not make someone outside the Household eligible to use the subscription. Disney allows up to seven profiles, but profiles are not additional Household memberships. If Disney+ displays a sharing or Household message, its account-security guidance directs customers to the sharing help page; the account page also offers device-management and sign-out options. How much does an Extra Member cost?
Disney’s US pricing page, dated September 23, 2026, lists these monthly rates. Prices apply to new subscriptions starting on that date; people who subscribed earlier will see the price change in a billing cycle on or after October 21, 2026. Third-party billing partner prices may vary, so check the amount shown for the account’s billing channel.

At those published standalone rates, adding an Extra Member costs less per month than paying for a second subscription. The trade-off is capacity: the add-on is one person, one profile, and one device streaming at a time, rather than a separate subscription. Eligible bundle prices and exclusions
Disney lists separate Extra Member prices for eligible bundles. The add-on is not available for every bundle, so confirm the exact plan before relying on it.

Who can be an Extra Member?
Each Disney+ or eligible bundle subscription can add one Extra Member. The person must meet all of these conditions, according to Disney’s Extra Member guidance:

- If you believe that your Card has been lost or stolen, notify Mastercard immediately by calling 1-833-791-7288. You will be asked to provide the Gift Card number and other identifying information.
- Use your Mastercard Gift Card in the U.S. everywhere Mastercard debit cards are accepted, including online. Your Amazon.com Balance cannot be used to purchase Mastercard gift cards.
- Be at least 18 years old.
- Live in the same country or region as the account holder.
- Not have an active Disney+, Hulu, or ESPN subscription.
The account holder pays for the add-on monthly. The Extra Member cannot change the service tier or other account options, although they can remove themselves.
What does the Extra Member get—and what are the limits?
The invited person uses their own email address and password and receives a unique profile with personalized watch history. Disney says they may have access to the same content and video and audio quality as the account holder. They can stream and download on one device at a time. The main subscription’s Household can use up to four devices simultaneously; that limit does not raise the Extra Member’s one-device allowance. Disney explains its simultaneous-stream limits here.

That makes the add-on a single-person option, not a way to extend the Household’s general device capacity. If the person needs an independent subscription or the plan is ineligible, Disney identifies getting a separate subscription as the alternative.

Add one through a Disney-billed account
- Go to DisneyPlus.com and sign in to the account holder’s subscription.
- Open Profile > Account.
- Under Your Plans and Billing, choose Invite an Extra Member.
- Review the terms and plan change, then agree and subscribe.
- Enter the invited person’s email and select or create their profile. Disney’s invitation flow may allow transfer of an eligible existing Disney+ profile, subject to its profile restrictions.
Remove the person or cancel the paid add-on
Removing or replacing the person attached to the Extra Member seat takes effect immediately, but it does not cancel the paid add-on: the seat becomes vacant and monthly billing continues. To stop future charges, cancel the Extra Member add-on in the account. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current Extra Member billing period. The Extra Member can also remove themselves or sign up for their own subscription.
