Deel’s communications chief Elisabeth Diana had left the company by April 2025, but the available reporting does not establish that a lawsuit filed by rival Rippling prompted her departure. The personnel update came as the companies were embroiled in a dispute over allegations of corporate spying.
What is known about Elisabeth Diana’s departure?
TechCrunch reported on April 5, 2025, that Diana was no longer with Deel. Her LinkedIn profile, as described in the report, showed that she joined the company in November 2021 and her role ended in April 2025. Deel said: “We are grateful for the work Elisabeth did while at Deel and wish her the best in her next endeavor.” The statement did not give a reason for her departure. TechCrunch’s report does not say whether she resigned or whether the company initiated the separation.
What is the Rippling lawsuit about?
Rippling filed suit against Deel on March 17, 2025, alleging spying, trade-secret misappropriation, unfair competition and violations of the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO). These are claims made by Rippling, not findings that the conduct occurred. Deel denied “all legal wrongdoing” and described Rippling’s actions as an effort to shift attention from accusations concerning Russian sanctions. That characterization is Deel’s position, not an established account of Rippling’s motive. TechCrunch reported both sides’ statements.
Did the lawsuit cause Diana to leave?
That connection has not been established. The lawsuit and Diana’s departure overlapped in time, but the report did not say that Deel or Diana linked the departure to the litigation. Timing alone does not show that the case caused her to leave.

What is the status of the case?
The federal case, People Center, Inc. v. Deel, Inc. et al., No. 25-cv-02576, is in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California. The court’s February 23, 2026 order granted in part and denied in part motions to dismiss. The February order was followed by a September 25, 2026 order granting Deel’s motion to compel arbitration, denying a motion to strike, and granting in part and denying in part a motion to dismiss. The court scheduled a status conference for November 13, 2026. The September order reflects procedural decisions in a continuing case; it is not a final resolution of the underlying factual allegations.
