Cyera hired channel veteran Dave Rogers as head of global channels and alliances in April 2025 to scale its partner business as the company expanded from data security posture management (DSPM) into a broader data- and AI-security platform. Rogers’ “no limit” framing described his strategic view of the opportunity—not a measured market forecast. For partners, the practical question is whether they can turn data discovery and AI governance into defined implementation, advisory, and ongoing service engagements.
What happened when Cyera hired Dave Rogers?
On April 28, 2025, around RSA Conference 2025, Cyera announced Rogers as its head of global channels and alliances. The appointment put a dedicated channel leader in place as the company sought to expand partner-led selling and services alongside its growing product portfolio. CRN’s report on the appointment also covered two related hires: Sol Rashidi as chief strategy officer for data and AI, and Amit Raikar as vice president of strategic alliances. Together, the appointments signaled investment in channel scale, alliances, and executive-level data and AI positioning—not just a new sales title.
CRN reported at the time that Cyera had raised $300 million at a $3 billion valuation several months earlier and that the company said its revenue had grown 26× over the preceding two years. Those are announcement-era figures, not current financing or audited growth measures.
Why Rogers’ background mattered
CRN described Rogers as a cybersecurity channel executive who had recently joined Palo Alto Networks as a senior vice president in August 2024. Before that, he spent six years at Netskope, including as senior vice president of global alliances and channel sales from 2022 to 2024. His earlier roles included vice president of cloud security business development at Optiv and positions at Dell EMC and IBM. That sequence gave Cyera a leader with experience in both security vendors and channel organizations as it worked to build partner reach.

CRN uses “Dave Rogers,” while a Cyera social post identifies the executive as “David Rogers.”
Rogers’ case for an AI-security partner opportunity
Rogers’ argument was that useful AI depends on access to useful data, and organizations cannot safely govern that access if they do not know what data they hold, where it resides, how sensitive it is, or which people and systems can reach it. In his view, that creates work for partners beyond selling software: helping customers assess their data estate, set governance rules, deploy controls, and connect security to AI adoption.

That is a strategic thesis, not proof that every AI initiative will generate a Cyera purchase. The business case is strongest when a customer has a concrete problem—such as sensitive information exposed to an AI tool, fragmented data across cloud and on-premises systems, or weak oversight of AI identities—and can fund a defined project to address it. “No limit” is rhetoric about potential, not a market-size estimate.
What partners can do beyond reselling
The opportunity Rogers described spans the customer lifecycle. A partner may begin with discovery and advisory work, then support implementation, policy design, adoption, and ongoing operations. Cyera’s partner materials currently describe channel sales and services, technology alliances, global systems integrators (GSIs), and managed service providers (MSPs). They advertise training, technical support, co-selling, competitive margins, and marketing development funds (MDF).

- Assess: Map data stores, sensitive information, access, and AI use; identify exposure and governance gaps.
- Implement: Configure connectors and permissions, validate classification, integrate identity and workflow tools, and establish customer-approved policies.
- Consult: Help data owners and security teams decide what information can be used by which AI systems, and under what conditions.
- Operate: Provide managed monitoring, compliance support, remediation workflows, or recurring reviews where the customer needs ongoing help.
- Expand: Support adoption and subsequent renewals or additional use cases, subject to the partner’s and vendor’s commercial arrangements.
Cyera’s public pages do not state exact margin percentages, MDF eligibility rules, deal-registration terms, certification requirements, service-attach expectations, or renewal-credit rules. Partners should ask for those details before investing in a practice; advertised program benefits alone do not establish partner profitability.
How Cyera’s platform has evolved since 2025
The announcement-era story centered on DSPM, data loss prevention (DLP), and the services needed to govern data as AI adoption grew. As of August 2026, Cyera presents a wider platform that combines data security capabilities with controls for AI assets and activity. Its product pages describe the following areas:

These are vendor-described capabilities, not interchangeable names for one control. DSPM helps teams understand their data estate; DLP focuses on controlling data movement or exposure; AI-SPM addresses AI assets and their access; runtime controls apply while AI systems operate. A DSPM deployment by itself should not be treated as proof of complete AI runtime security. Cyera also advertises agentless deployment across cloud, SaaS, DBaaS, and on-premises environments, along with 95%+ classification precision. Those are vendor claims; performance and implementation effort should be validated against the customer’s own data, integrations, permissions, and false-positive tolerance. Agentless does not mean effort-free: connectors, access approvals, identity mapping, remediation decisions, and operating ownership still have to be addressed. Its AI-SPM coverage is also integration-dependent; partners should verify support for the exact AI services and deployment model in scope rather than promise universal visibility.

How a partner should qualify a Cyera opportunity
Check whether the customer has a specific problem
Cyera is a more plausible fit for organizations with fragmented data across cloud, SaaS, DBaaS, and on-premises systems; active generative AI, copilot, or agent deployments; or a need to identify sensitive-data exposure before enabling AI. It may be harder to justify for a small, simple data estate, a narrowly defined endpoint-DLP need, or a customer whose existing controls already cover the use case without unacceptable overlap.
Test services and technical readiness
- Can your team assess data stores, cloud and SaaS permissions, identity context, and governance requirements?
- Can you validate classification against the customer’s actual data types, languages, proprietary terms, and regulatory needs?
- Can you build remediation and change-control workflows, not just produce an inventory?
- Can your team support DLP policy rationalization, AI governance, integration, or continuous monitoring?
- Does the customer’s environment include the specific AI platforms and integrations Cyera supports for the intended use case?
Put guardrails around remediation
Actions such as revoking access, masking data, disabling public access, or enforcing encryption can disrupt users and applications. Before enabling automation, agree on approval steps, previews, rollback procedures, change windows, and audit trails. The customer’s operating model—not just a vendor feature—determines whether remediation is safe.
Clarify commercial and procurement terms
Cyera’s pricing page does not publish numerical list prices. It describes two comprehensive DSPM and DLP plans with optional add-ons, with pricing based on customer outcomes and a custom-quote buying path. Partners should confirm scope, add-on costs, service ownership, renewal economics, and deal rules directly. For AWS-centric buyers, Cyera announced that DSPM became available through the AWS Security Hub Extended plan in February 2026; eligibility and pricing should be confirmed with AWS or Cyera. What Rogers’ appointment signals—and what it does not
Rogers’ hire reflected a commercial bet: as Cyera broadened from DSPM toward data and AI security, partners could help make that breadth actionable through assessment, deployment, governance, and managed services. The opportunity is most credible where customers have an identifiable data-exposure or AI-governance problem and partners can deliver measurable implementation work. The appointment and the “no limit” phrase do not establish market size, guaranteed partner economics, or that Cyera replaces every DLP, data-governance, cloud-security, or AI-security product.
