How much did Cybertruck sales fall in 2025?
Kelley Blue Book’s estimate, as reported by CBS News on January 23, 2026, puts U.S. Cybertruck sales at 20,237 in 2025, compared with 38,965 in 2024. That is a year-over-year decrease of 18,728 vehicles, or 48%.

The comparison captures a substantial drop from 2024, but it should be read as an annual U.S. estimate from Kelley Blue Book—not as a figure disclosed directly by Tesla or a global sales total.
Why Tesla’s delivery reports don’t confirm a Cybertruck total
Tesla does not publish Cybertruck deliveries as a separate line in its official delivery tables. Instead, it groups the truck with vehicles under “Other models,” alongside the Model S and Model X and, in later reporting, other vehicle programs. As a result, the aggregate cannot be treated as a Cybertruck count.

For example, Tesla’s Q1 2026 delivery report listed 16,130 global deliveries in “Other models.” That figure includes multiple models; it does not establish how many Cybertrucks were delivered. Tesla’s Q2 2026 Form 10-Q likewise discusses aggregate automotive revenue and deliveries without giving a Cybertruck-specific delivery total.
What the more recent U.S. estimates show
Cox Automotive’s U.S. quarterly estimates, reproduced by Electrek, show Cybertruck sales estimates remaining in the low thousands through the second quarter of 2026:

The estimate rose by 225 from Q1 to Q2 2026, but that quarter-to-quarter change does not reverse the 2025 annual decline. Nor should quarterly estimates be added to or directly substituted for Tesla’s global delivery categories: they differ in geography, measure, and model scope.
Why registration figures can look different
Sales estimates and vehicle registrations are not interchangeable. The Los Angeles Times, citing S&P Global Mobility, reported 7,071 U.S. Cybertruck registrations in Q4 2025. That count included 1,279 vehicles registered to SpaceX and 60 to other companies associated with Elon Musk. Cox Automotive’s estimate for U.S. Cybertruck sales in the same quarter was 4,140.

The difference is not, by itself, proof that either figure is wrong. One is a registration count attributed to S&P Global Mobility; the other is a sales estimate attributed to Cox Automotive. They measure activity differently, so each should be labeled with its source and measure rather than presented as competing versions of the same exact count.

Tesla reported 8,295 global deliveries in “Other Models” in Q3 2026, down from 15,933 in Q3 2025 and 12,364 in Q2 2026, according to Electrek’s October 7, 2026 report. Those totals cover an aggregate category, not the Cybertruck alone. They cannot be used to calculate a Cybertruck-specific Q3 total.

Electrek said a standalone Cox Automotive estimate for Q3 2026 was not yet available as of October 7, 2026. The latest model-specific quarterly estimates in that report therefore run through Q2. The available figures establish a steep 2025 U.S. decline and provide limited subsequent estimates, but they do not establish a single cause for the decline.
What analysts say about demand
Wedbush Securities technology analyst Dan Ives told CBS News, “It’s been an uphill battle for sales, but a long demand curve ahead.” That is an analyst’s view, not a confirmed explanation for the 2025 estimate or a measured forecast.
