That distinction matters if you are comparing old deal posts with Hulu’s current pricing or trying to determine whether a checkout page is showing a genuine promotion.
What the Hulu Cyber Monday deal actually offered

Neither total includes taxes or other charges. The rates were temporary introductory prices, not permanent subscription prices.

When the promotion ended
The general-public offer ran through Monday, December 2, 2024, which was Cyber Monday. General access began at 12:00 a.m. Pacific time on November 27, 2024. ABC News early-access promotion material directed shoppers to Hulu.com/GMA.
Those dates are historical. Promotional buttons, landing pages, and prices from the 2024 event should not be treated as available today. Hulu’s current enrollment pages show different plans and prices. The supplied Hulu pricing information lists the Disney+, Hulu Bundle at $12.99 per month and notes that a separate $9.99 introductory offer ended February 17, 2026.
Who could claim it
The promotion targeted new and eligible returning subscribers, but it was not open to every Hulu account. For the standalone Hulu offer, eligibility generally required that the customer had not been subscribed to Hulu during the preceding month.
The bundle had additional restrictions. Existing Hulu, Disney+, ESPN+, Disney Bundle, and certain third-party-billed subscribers could be excluded. Eligibility could also depend on the account’s prior subscription history and billing arrangement.

Using a different email address was not a reliable workaround. Hulu’s systems could identify an existing account, previous subscription activity, bundle enrollment, or billing through a third party. If a promotion was unavailable at checkout, repeatedly creating accounts could create billing and account-management problems without making the customer eligible.
How sign-up worked while the deal was live
- Open Hulu.com and select Sign Up Now.
- Choose the eligible Hulu plan with ads, or select the ad-supported Disney+ and Hulu bundle if that was the offer wanted.
- Enter an email address and create a password.
- Provide payment information.
- Check the final checkout screen to confirm the promotional monthly rate, eligibility, and renewal terms before submitting payment.
The final checkout page was the important confirmation point. A search result, social-media post, or old deal page could display a price that did not apply to a particular account.
What happened after the 12-month price ended
The discount lasted for 12 months, after which the subscription automatically renewed at Hulu’s then-current regular price unless it was canceled. The renewal price was not guaranteed to match the price shown in old Cyber Monday coverage.
For example, the Hulu-only promotion produced approximately $11.88 in subscription charges over the discounted year before tax. That did not mean the customer would continue paying $0.99 per month in month 13. Anyone who wanted only the promotional year needed to review the account’s renewal date and cancel before the next billing period.

Cancellation and account deletion are separate actions. Canceling stops the paid subscription according to Hulu’s billing terms; it does not automatically delete the Hulu account. Hulu’s help guidance says a subscription must be canceled before the account can be deleted.
Common mistakes in old deal coverage
“Hulu was $2.99 per month.”
That description confuses two offers. Hulu alone cost $0.99 per month. The $2.99 price was for the ad-supported Disney+ and Hulu Bundle.
“The deal is still available on Cyber Monday.”
Cyber Monday 2024 was the relevant event. The offer expired on December 2, 2024. A current Hulu page or a new promotion must be checked separately rather than relying on an archived deal headline.
“The discount lasted forever.”
It did not. The promotion covered 12 months and then renewed at the applicable regular price unless canceled.

“Any account could get the rate.”
Eligibility rules excluded various current subscribers, recent subscribers, bundle customers, and some third-party-billed accounts. Account history mattered.
“The deal could be stacked with another promotion.”
Hulu’s promotional terms generally prohibit combining discounts, free trials, gift cards, or other offers unless the specific terms permit it. A customer should not assume that a discounted subscription can be combined with a separate coupon or trial.
How to evaluate a similar Hulu promotion
- Check the end date. A headline saying “last chance” may describe an old event.
- Identify the exact plan. Confirm whether the price is for Hulu alone or a bundle.
- Calculate the full introductory cost. Multiply the monthly price by the number of discounted months, then account for tax.
- Read the renewal line. Find the price and billing date after the introductory period.
- Review eligibility before entering payment details. Recent subscriptions and third-party billing can disqualify an account.
- Save the confirmation email. It provides a record of the promotional rate and renewal terms.
Bottom line for shoppers
The accurate version of the old headline is: Hulu with ads was available for $0.99 per month for 12 months during the 2024 Cyber Monday promotion. The $2.99 price belonged to the ad-supported Disney+ and Hulu bundle. Both offers expired on December 2, 2024, so they cannot be claimed as a current deal. If you find a new Hulu promotion, verify the live checkout price, eligibility rules, and post-discount renewal rate before subscribing.
