Watson and Anais announced their engagement on March 16, 2025; the separate $230 million figure is the value of Watson’s five-year, fully guaranteed Cleveland Browns contract reported in 2022.

TMZ reported that Ahmed, the jeweler who designed the ring, valued it at up to $2.5 million. That is an attributed estimate, not evidence of what Watson paid: the report does not include a receipt, sale price, or independent appraisal. TMZ’s headline described the ring as worth at least $2 million, while its article gave Ahmed’s estimate as up to $2.5 million; the latter is the more precise way to describe the reported valuation.

TMZ says Ahmed named the bespoke design “The Glory Treasure” and worked with Watson on it for seven months. The outlet attributes the following specifications to the jeweler:
- More than 20 carats of diamonds
- D–E–F color and IF-to-VVS clarity grades
- 18-karat white gold
- Crafted in Idar-Oberstein, Germany
These are details relayed by TMZ from Ahmed, not independently verified gemological findings. Ahmed described the center stone as a “premium D center diamond” with “perfect cut” and “exceptional color & flawless clarity.” That is the jeweler’s promotional description as quoted by TMZ, not an independent grading report.

The Associated Press reported that the couple announced their engagement in a joint Instagram post on March 16, 2025. The caption read, “Mrs. Watson loading …”; the image showed Anais wearing a large diamond ring. The AP reported they had been dating since 2019 and described Anais as a singer, actress, and cookbook author.
What does Watson’s $230 million NFL deal mean?
The $230 million refers to the five-year, fully guaranteed Cleveland Browns contract reported by NFL.com in connection with Watson’s 2022 move from Houston to Cleveland. It is a contract figure, not an endorsement payment or a ring-related transaction. In the same report, NFL.com said Cleveland received Watson and a 2024 sixth-round pick, while Houston received multiple draft picks.

What the reported estimate does—and does not—tell you
A reported valuation is not the same as a confirmed purchase price or proof of what a buyer spent. In this case, the $2.5 million ceiling comes from the jeweler through TMZ; the available reporting does not establish Watson’s actual cost or an independent market value. The reported carat weight and grades likewise describe the jeweler’s account, rather than a publicly documented appraisal.
The AP also reported that more than two dozen women accused Watson in 2021 and 2022 of sexual assault and harassment during massage therapy sessions in Houston. It reported that two grand juries declined to indict him, that he settled civil lawsuits in all but one of the cases, and that he served an 11-game suspension and paid a $5 million fine in 2022 for violating the NFL’s personal-conduct policy. These were allegations and civil settlements, not criminal convictions.
