The $849-off Galaxy Z Flip6 deal was a real Samsung promotion reported on March 4, 2025—but it is not a current offer. The reported best price was $399 for the 512GB model, and reaching it required an eligible trade-in and the promotion’s maximum combined savings. As of August 18, 2026, Samsung’s indexed offers pages do not confirm that deal.
How the reported $849 discount worked
Droid Life reported the offer during Samsung’s March 2025 “Discover Samsung” promotion. The $849 figure was a maximum combined savings amount, not a flat discount available to every buyer. It combined promotional value, including an instant credit, a free storage upgrade, and the maximum eligible trade-in credit. The report said the 512GB Galaxy Z Flip6 could reach $399 with that maximum trade-in scenario. Droid Life’s March 4, 2025 report is the source for the surviving deal breakdown.
| March 2025 buyer scenario or benefit | What was reported |
|---|---|
| Eligible trade-in worth the maximum promotional credit | 512GB Galaxy Z Flip6 as low as $399, with up to $849 in combined savings |
| No trade-in | $200 instant credit was reported; the full $849 savings did not apply |
| Storage | Free doubled storage was reported as part of the promotion |
| Accessory | A free 35W power adapter was reported |
The report does not establish the exact trade-in models required to reach the maximum, the precise value assigned to each part of the savings, or an exact expiration time. It also does not establish whether the quoted $399 included tax, shipping, or optional services. Treat those details as unconfirmed rather than assuming $399 was every buyer’s checkout total.
Why the full discount depended on a trade-in
Samsung trade-in credits depend on the device model and condition, and the amount can change. Samsung’s published terms allow one trade-in per qualifying purchase and require the customer to ship the device within the stated period; the indexed Z Flip6 offer terms specify 15 days after receipt. Samsung can charge back the credited amount if the device arrives late or does not meet eligibility requirements. - Offers a 6.7″ Dynamic AMOLED 2X folding main display with a 1–120 Hz adaptive refresh rate, giving you fluid visuals for media, gaming, and multitasking while still folding into a compact, stylish form.
Before relying on a quoted trade-in value, check that the phone powers on, holds a charge, has a functioning display, is not blacklisted, and has been reset with personal information and software or account locks removed. A condition mismatch or missed shipping deadline can turn the estimated credit into a chargeback. Participation in Samsung’s trade-in program also does not cancel any installment balance, termination fee, or other obligation owed to a carrier or retailer.
If selling privately, compare the expected sale proceeds after marketplace fees, shipping, time, and fraud risk with Samsung’s quoted credit. A private sale may bring more, but it takes work and has its own risks; a trade-in is simpler but remains subject to inspection.

What the phone cost outside the promotion
Samsung’s March 2025 U.S. MSRP document listed the unlocked Z Flip6 at $1,099.99 for 256GB and $1,219.99 for 512GB. Those are historical list prices, not a statement of what the phone should cost in 2026. The report’s $399 price was for the 512GB configuration, with a free storage upgrade included in the promotion. Samsung’s March 2025 MSRP file provides the historical list prices.
Is the “today only” deal still live?
No current evidence verifies the March 2025 $849 offer as active on August 18, 2026. The original “today” wording came from a report published on March 4, 2025; the surviving information does not establish a precise cutoff hour or whether checkout availability extended beyond that date. Treat the promotion as expired.

Samsung’s currently indexed U.S. cell-phone offers and broader offers feature newer Galaxy Z Flip models rather than confirming the old Z Flip6 promotion. Samsung’s indexed Z Flip6 offers page lists the phone from $1,099.99 before trade-in, but prices and availability can change. Confirm the configuration, stock, trade-in quote, and total at checkout.

By 2026, the Z Flip6 is not Samsung’s newest Flip model. A low current price may still make sense, but compare it with current-generation offers and check exactly what a seller is offering. The historical $399 promotion is not a sound basis for valuing a new, used, or refurbished phone today.
Quick Recap
- Confirm that the phone is 256GB or 512GB and whether it is unlocked or carrier-locked.
- Check whether it is new, open-box, or refurbished, and verify the seller’s reputation.
- Read the warranty and return terms; for used or refurbished stock, ask about battery and hinge condition.
- Confirm which accessories are actually included instead of assuming the old promotion’s adapter is part of the sale.
- Compare the full checkout price, including tax, shipping, and any required plan or financing terms, with offers for newer Flip models.
- If trading in a phone, photograph its condition, record its identifying details, keep shipment proof, and follow Samsung’s current packing and deadline instructions.
