These are historical Black Friday 2025 prices, not deals confirmed to be available now. A November 2025 roundup featured useful small tech and practical accessories under $50, including an 8Bitdo controller, chargers, smart plugs and a compact speaker. The prices below are preserved as reported at the time; they should not be used as current price guidance.
For a personal-finance-minded shopper, a discount is only useful if the item fits the recipient’s devices, does not bring an unwanted subscription or accessory cost, and is worth buying even after the promotion ends.
Historical Black Friday 2025 prices at a glance
The following offers were reported in November 2025. The available coverage is secondary reporting rather than live retailer listings, so it does not establish present-day stock, price, or whether each offer was available to every shopper. Unless stated otherwise, reported discounts are against the comparison price cited in that coverage, not a verified price-history record.
| Product | Reported 2025 price and discount | Best fit | Main caveat |
|---|---|---|---|
| 8Bitdo Ultimate Bluetooth Controller with charging dock | $40, reported as 43% off and a historical low | Controller buyers who want the included dock | The offer was reported for the white version; check exact console and device compatibility. |
| UGREEN Uno Nexode 65W, three-port charger | $33, reported as $17 off with Prime | Phone, tablet or compatible laptop users | The reported price depended on Prime; confirm port-level power and whether a cable is included. |
| Anker Nano 70W, three-port charger | $35, reported as $15 off | People seeking a multiport charger | The exact model was not directly tested in the cited coverage; the recommendation drew on related Anker chargers. |
| Kasa KP125M Matter smart-plug two-pack | $23, reported as $12 off | Households with a compatible Matter setup | Matter compatibility does not guarantee plug-and-play use without a compatible controller or ecosystem. |
| Ultimate Ears Miniroll | $50, reported as $30 off | Someone who wants a compact portable speaker | Battery-life and range figures reported at the time should be checked against current product specifications. |
| TP-Link AC1200 Wi-Fi extender | $19, reported as 37% off | A household trying to improve a specific weak-signal area | An extender is not a mesh system; results depend on placement and the signal it receives from the router. |
| Amazon Echo Pop | $22, reported as $18 off | An Alexa household wanting a small smart speaker | Choose it for Alexa features and convenience, not as a premium sound system. |
| Amazon Smart Plug | $13, reported as 48% off | People already using Alexa | Primarily an Alexa-centered choice. |
| Amazon Echo Spot | $50, reported as $30 off | An Alexa user who wants a small display speaker | Its usefulness is tied to Amazon’s ecosystem. |

| Philips fabric shaver | $13, reported as 32% off | Someone who wants to remove pilling from clothing or blankets | Confirm the exact model and included accessories before comparing prices. |

Which under-$50 deals made the most sense?
For a practical gift: the 8Bitdo controller
At the reported $40 price, the Ultimate Bluetooth Controller’s included charging dock made it a more complete gift than a bare controller. But a controller is only a good deal if it works with the recipient’s intended console or other device. The historical offer was limited to the white model, and the coverage distinguished it from the newer Ultimate 2 Bluetooth, which it described as having more precise joystick technology. Check the precise model and compatibility rather than assuming features carry across the product line. The historical 8Bitdo coverage does not establish compatibility with every current console or firmware version.
For a useful everyday upgrade: a charger
The UGREEN and Anker chargers were reported at $33 and $35, respectively. A 65W or 70W headline is the charger’s total capacity, not a promise that every port supplies that amount simultaneously. Before buying a multiport charger, compare the power available from the port you will use, the device’s charging requirements, plug layout, and whether a cable is included. The historical UGREEN price was Prime-dependent; the exact Anker model was not directly tested in the cited coverage. Treat related-model performance as supporting context, not proof that this exact charger was tested.

For a compact speaker: the Miniroll
The Miniroll was reported at the $50 ceiling. The 2025 coverage cited a 12-hour battery claim and 40-meter Bluetooth range, but those are historical specifications, not independently verified current figures. Check the manufacturer’s current listing for the exact model before relying on battery, water-resistance, or pairing claims. A small speaker can be a convenient gift, but its low price does not make it a substitute for a larger speaker when room-filling sound is the priority.
For a specific Wi-Fi dead spot: the extender
The TP-Link AC1200 extender was reported at $19. An extender can help only where it can still receive a usable signal from the router; placing it inside the dead zone will not create a strong connection from nothing. It is a budget fix for a localized problem, not a replacement for a mesh system when a home needs more consistent coverage across multiple rooms or floors.

Smart-home bargains depend on the household’s ecosystem
Amazon Smart Plug and Echo speakers
The Amazon Smart Plug, Echo Pop and Echo Spot were reported at $13, $22 and $50. They make the most sense for someone who already uses Alexa or wants to start using it. A smart speaker can handle voice assistance, timers, music and compatible smart-home controls, but the Echo Pop’s appeal is convenience rather than high-end sound. The Echo Spot adds a small display, yet remains an Amazon-ecosystem purchase; neither device is a neutral choice for a household committed to another assistant.
Kasa Matter plug
The Kasa KP125M two-pack was reported at $23. Matter support may broaden platform options, but it does not mean every buyer can set it up without checking their home equipment. Confirm that the recipient’s smart-home platform and controller support the intended setup, and consider whether a two-pack is useful rather than buying extra plugs simply because the per-unit price looks low.

Ring camera
The Ring Outdoor Cam / Stick Up Cam was reported at $50. Do not treat the hardware price as the full cost of a security-camera setup: the historical coverage warned that many advanced features require a monthly subscription and described the camera as Alexa-only. Before choosing it, check which features are available without a subscription and whether those meet the intended use.
How to judge a sub-$50 deal without overspending
A low ticket price can still lead to a poor purchase if the product is incompatible, incomplete, or dependent on recurring payments. Use this checklist before ordering:
- Verify the exact model. Retailers may show a newer revision, a different configuration, or a similar-looking product. Do not transfer one model’s specifications or testing status to another.
- Check the effective price. Look for Prime or other membership requirements, coupons that must be activated, color restrictions, shipping charges, and whether the listing is for new or refurbished stock.
- Count the add-ons. Check for a required cable, hub, controller, dock, battery, or subscription. If an item needs another purchase to work as intended, include that cost in your decision.
- Match the platform. Confirm phone, smart-home, computer, or console compatibility before buying a gift. A useful item for one ecosystem may be a dead end in another.
- Check the seller and terms. For marketplace listings, confirm who is selling the item, the warranty terms, and the return window.
- Judge the price, not the percentage. A claimed discount does not establish a record low or a good value. If the item is not worth its price to you without the promotion, skip it.
What this list can—and cannot—tell you
The historical coverage establishes that these products and reported prices appeared in Black Friday 2025 deal coverage; it does not establish that the same prices, specifications, stock, or promotions apply in 2026. The matching article is available at Engadget, and contemporaneous deal coverage also appeared in Pipedot’s Black Friday coverage. No current August 2026 retailer prices were verified here, so none of the historical figures should be read as an active offer.
The most defensible takeaway is to use this product mix as a shortlist, not a shopping cart: choose the item that solves a real need, confirm its exact model and total cost, and buy only if its current price still makes sense.
