Loti announced a $5.1 million seed round on June 26, 2024, to build tools that help public figures find impersonation accounts, fake endorsements and other unauthorized uses of their faces or voices. The company has since reported more financing and broadened its offering from celebrity-focused protection to a wider likeness and intellectual-property monitoring platform.
What Loti does
Loti is not just a tool that labels a video real or fake. Its product is designed to find possible misuse of a person’s likeness or intellectual property online, help the customer assess it and coordinate takedown requests. That can include deepfake images and videos, cloned voices, fake social accounts, bogus endorsements, unauthorized ads or merchandise, and non-consensual explicit imagery. Impersonation scams aimed at fans are another relevant risk. The company describes its current offering as likeness protection and rights enforcement (Loti; Loti for public figures).
The underlying concern extends beyond celebrity reputation. Generative tools make it easier to create convincing content using a real person’s identity, while the legal rights that may apply—such as publicity, privacy or copyright rights—depend on the facts and jurisdiction. The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office has discussed name, image and likeness issues in the context of AI (USPTO report).
How Loti’s detection and takedown workflow works
- Verify and authorize. A customer establishes their identity and authorizes the use of reference images, video or voice data so the service can look for relevant matches.
- Scan public sources. Loti says it monitors public online sources, including social platforms, marketplaces and adult websites, for potentially relevant material.
- Identify possible matches. The company says its Watchtower system uses multimodal AI and more than 40 proprietary models to look for faces, voices, text, logos, deepfakes, impersonators and other possible uses of likeness or IP. This is a company description, not an independently audited performance finding (Loti for public figures).
- Review findings. The customer or representative reviews matches. Similarity is not, by itself, proof that content is synthetic, unauthorized or unlawful.
- Submit requests and track cases. Loti says it can generate and submit platform-specific takedown requests and track their status. The platform—not Loti—decides whether to remove content under its rules and applicable law.
- Continue monitoring. Ongoing scans can help find reuploads or new instances, but no monitoring service should be assumed to cover every site, private group or encrypted channel.
Loti’s FAQ says the company has removed 95% of unauthorized content within 17 hours (Loti FAQ). That is a company-reported claim; the cited page does not establish an independently verified benchmark, its denominator, the platforms covered or whether “removed” means permanent removal. Treat it as a reported result, not a guarantee.

Who Loti serves and which partnerships have been reported
The 2024 announcement focused on actors, musicians, athletes, influencers, executives and other public figures whose reputations or income can be affected by misuse of their likeness. Loti now also markets its products to agencies, brands, enterprises and individuals. The public-figure route is sales-led: Loti directs interested representatives to book a demo (Loti demo page).
GeekWire reported in June 2024 that talent agency WME had signed a deal with Loti and was using the platform for clients, and that Loti was working with Meta and YouTube to help identify illegitimate accounts (GeekWire). Loti’s April 2025 Series A announcement said the company planned to deepen strategic partnerships with WME and CAA (Series A announcement). These reports do not mean that a platform endorses Loti or will accept every request.

What the $5.1 million round funded
The June 2024 financing was led by Seattle-area venture firm FUSE, with Bling Capital, Ensemble VC, Alpha Edison and K5 Global/K5 Tokyo Black among the other named participants. GeekWire reported $5.1 million; Loti’s contemporary release described the seed round as $5.15 million, a small difference attributable to rounding in the reported figure (GeekWire; Loti announcement).
Loti said the money would support its technology platform and hiring. At the time, GeekWire reported 35 employees across Seattle, Los Angeles and locations outside the United States, with a goal of reaching about 50 by the end of 2024. Those are historical figures and a hiring target, not a current headcount.

The financing timeline since the original announcement
| Milestone | What was reported |
|---|---|
| 2022 | Loti was founded, according to GeekWire’s 2024 report. |
| June 2024 | The company announced a seed round reported as $5.1 million by GeekWire and $5.15 million in Loti’s release. |
| September 2024 | Loti said its seed financing had reached $6.65 million after additional investment from Khosla Ventures (GeekWire; Loti announcement). |
| April 2025 | Loti announced a $16.2 million Series A led by Khosla Ventures, with FUSE, Bling Capital and Ensemble also participating (Loti announcement). |
If the reported rounds are cumulative, the two seed figures and Series A represent at least $22.85 million in publicly announced financing. The $5.1 million headline is therefore a historical description of the June 2024 round, not Loti’s latest reported financing. The company said the Series A would support product development, market expansion, detection and enforcement systems, consumer offerings, agency partnerships, and tools for authorized AI likenesses and contract enforcement.
What Loti costs, and what is not publicly priced
Loti’s consumer signup page displayed a free “Everyone” plan and an “Everyone Premium” plan for $25 per month or $200 annually. The displayed limits were weekly scans and five monthly takedowns for the free plan, and 30 monthly takedowns for Premium. The page also showed a waitlist, so availability and terms may change; check the signup page before relying on those prices or limits (Loti signup). The same page says consumer accounts are for people aged 18 or older and that scans include adult websites.

- Easy and Reliable FTP Site Maintenance.

Public-figure pricing is not stated on the cited page; Loti asks representatives to book a demo. A single, isolated incident may not justify an ongoing subscription, while a person or agency facing repeated threats may value continuous monitoring and centralized case tracking.

Before paying for monitoring, ask the provider to define what it covers and what it actually does after finding a match. The most useful comparisons are practical rather than claims about AI model counts:

- Coverage: Which social networks, websites, marketplaces, forums and adult sites are monitored? Are private or encrypted spaces excluded?
- Types of misuse: Does monitoring cover faces, voice, video, text, logos, fake accounts and merchandise, or only selected formats?
- False positives: How does the service handle lookalikes, common names, fan accounts, licensed campaigns, parody and authorized synthetic content?
- Enforcement role: Does the vendor preserve evidence, draft a request, submit it, escalate a rejection or merely provide a link? Who decides whether a claim has a legal basis?
- Response-time definition: Is a published time measured from discovery, submission or platform action? Does “success” mean a request was filed, content was removed or removal was sustained?
- Privacy and retention: How are reference photos, voice samples, biometric data and case records stored, secured and deleted?
- Evidence and reuploads: Can the service retain URLs, timestamps, screenshots and correspondence for a legal case, and can it detect copies posted at new URLs?
- Scale and price: Can an agency manage multiple clients, and is pricing flat, per takedown or customized?
Automation helps with volume, but borderline cases may need human judgment. Broad matching can also mean sharing more sensitive reference data. Removal and evidence preservation can pull in different directions: a person may want harmful material taken down while retaining a copy for counsel or law enforcement. A fast but poorly grounded complaint can be rejected or trigger disputes about fair use, parody, commentary or authorized use.
Alternatives for individuals and organizations
Vermillio TraceID
Vermillio is a direct alternative offering likeness and IP monitoring, deepfake and fake-account detection, threat reports and takedown requests. Its public pages displayed Free at $0 per month, Basic at $10, Plus at $99, Pro at $100, Pro+ at $300, and Premium at custom pricing. The two pages show different plan structures, so confirm the applicable tier, limits and current price before subscribing (Vermillio protection; Vermillio automated takedowns). Its positioning also emphasizes AI-risk reporting and licensing opportunities.
Platform reporting and professional help
For a single post, reporting directly to the platform and preserving relevant URLs, screenshots and dates may be sufficient. An attorney can advise on copyright, publicity, privacy or defamation claims, while law enforcement may be appropriate for threats, extortion, scams or non-consensual intimate imagery. Large agencies or studios may instead use internal brand-protection teams combining social listening, reverse-image search and legal workflows. These approaches can offer more control or lower ongoing cost, but do not provide the same centralized, continuous cross-platform monitoring.
Quick Recap
Where detection and takedown services have limits
- A match is not a verdict. Facial or voice similarity can identify a lead without proving that media was AI-generated or used without permission.
- Platforms control removal. A vendor can submit a request, but platform rules and legal standards govern the result; content may be refused or reposted.
- Public monitoring has boundaries. Private groups, encrypted messaging and unsupported sites may not be visible to a scanning service.
- Rights vary by case and location. A legal argument valid in one jurisdiction may not apply elsewhere, and licensed, parody or commentary uses need careful review.
- Some harms need more than removal. Taking down a fake account cannot recover money already lost to an impersonation scam, and urgent intimate-image, threat or extortion cases may require evidence preservation and specialist assistance.
