The Snyderverse’s return has not been confirmed, and the Warner Bros. Discovery sale does not establish that its chances have improved. Skydance—not Netflix—completed its acquisition of Warner Bros. Discovery on October 6, 2026. Separately, Zack Snyder has said continuing his DC plans in another format has been discussed and is possible, but no project was announced.
Who bought Warner Bros. Discovery?
Skydance Corporation announced on October 6, 2026, that it had completed its acquisition of Warner Bros. Discovery after required regulatory approvals and customary closing conditions. The company said the combined portfolio includes the DC Universe. The announcement identifies the combined company as “Skydance.” Read Skydance’s official transaction announcement.

That corrects the premise in the original headline: the transaction was not a Netflix acquisition of Warner Bros. Discovery. And an ownership announcement, even one that names DC among the company’s franchises, is not a creative decision about a particular continuity or film series.
What has Zack Snyder said about continuing the Snyderverse?
In a February 27, 2026 report, GamesRadar+ said Snyder was asked whether his plans for Justice League 2 and 3 could continue as an animated movie or comic. Snyder replied, “We’ve absolutely talked about it quite a bit, and sure,” and added, “Yeah, I mean, we live in a world where all that’s possible.” Read GamesRadar+’s interview report.

Those remarks support the narrower conclusion that continuation in another format has been discussed and is possible. They do not announce an authorized project, a production schedule, or Snyder’s return to DC.

They do not establish that. A new owner may make fans wonder what direction DC will take, but Skydance’s transaction announcement does not state that it intends to revive Snyder’s continuity. Snyder’s comments describe possibility and discussion, not a studio greenlight. No probability, poll, or other statistic in these reports measures the odds of a return, so a claim that the sale has measurably boosted them would go beyond the evidence.
Would a continuation be a movie, comic, or animation?
Snyder’s reported comments concerned animation and comics as possible ways to continue his plans. Neither format was described as approved or in production. A hypothetical continuation in a comic or animated project would also not, by itself, mean that a new live-action Justice League film had been announced.
