Shipping, tax, coupons, membership pricing, seller condition, and product variants can all change what you actually pay.
For most shoppers, Google Shopping is the best starting point because it tracks products across participating retailers without requiring a separate service. Amazon-focused shoppers should look at Keepa or CamelCamelCamel. For barcode scanning and in-store comparisons, ShopSavvy and BuyVia are stronger choices. Slickdeals is better for discovering community-posted deals than for monitoring one exact product.

1. Google Shopping: best overall for most shoppers
Google Shopping is the most convenient general-purpose option. It is built into services many people already use, so there is no need to create an account with an Amazon-only tracker or install a specialized extension.
Price tracking is officially available in the United States, Canada, Australia, Japan, and India. Depending on the product, Google lets you select a specific size, color, or other variant and set a target price. When Google detects that the price has fallen below the target, it can send a mobile push notification through the Google app and an email.

Google also provides price insights that classify a price as low, typical, or high and may show recent price changes. Its “30-day low” information is based on the product’s total price, generally including the item price, discounts, and shipping.
How to track a product with Google
- Search for the product on Google Search or in the Google app.
- Open or scroll to the product card.
- Select Track price.
- Choose the exact size, color, or other option when Google offers the choice.
- Set a target price if you want one.
- Select OK.
To remove a tracked item in the Google mobile app, go to profile picture or initial → Saves & Collections → All saved items → Select, choose the product, tap the trash icon, and select Remove. To disable shopping notifications, go to profile picture or initial → Settings → Notifications and turn off Shopping.
Google Shopping does not include every product or seller. Seller information may also take time to update after a retailer changes its price. Shipping can vary by destination, method, and seller, and Google says the merchant’s page is the authoritative place to confirm the current price and final delivery cost.
Google’s current help documentation also describes an optional “Buy for me with GPay” agentic-checkout experience for some tracked products. If available, Google says it notifies you when the target price is reached so you can confirm payment, shipping, and transaction details. This is not automatic purchasing for every tracked product.
2. Keepa: best for Amazon price history
Keepa is the better choice when the question is not simply “Did the price fall?” but “Is this price actually low compared with the product’s history?” Its interactive charts provide substantially more context than a basic alert.
Keepa can show separate histories for Amazon, new marketplace offers, used offers, Amazon Warehouse, and other tracked offer types. Depending on the product, it also provides Buy Box history, sales-rank history, offer counts, and comparisons across Amazon’s international stores. It supports Amazon locales including the United States, Canada, Mexico, the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Japan, India, and Brazil.
How to use Keepa on Amazon
- Open an Amazon product page.
- Review the Keepa chart inserted into the page.
- Check that the chart corresponds to the intended product variation and offer type.
- Configure the product’s price-watch settings.
- Set a target price and notification method.
Keepa has Chrome and Firefox extensions plus Android and iOS apps. Its alerts can cover both price drops and availability.
The important financial trap is treating “the price” as one number. An alert could refer to a marketplace seller, a used item, Amazon Warehouse, or a Buy Box offer rather than the new item sold directly by Amazon. Amazon pages also combine colors, sizes, bundles, and conditions. A lower chart value may come with higher shipping, a different seller, a different condition, or a coupon that is no longer available.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsAn availability alert is not a reservation. The item may sell out or change price before you open Amazon.
3. CamelCamelCamel: best simple Amazon alternative
CamelCamelCamel is a simpler Amazon-only tracker. It provides price-history charts, high, low, and average values, email alerts, RSS feeds, and the Camelizer browser extension.
It tracks Amazon prices in the United States, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Spain, and the United Kingdom. Its principal price categories are Amazon, Third Party New, and Third Party Used.
How to create a CamelCamelCamel watch
- Copy the Amazon product URL.
- Paste it into CamelCamelCamel’s top search field.
- On the product page, hover over the price-tag icon next to the desired price type.
- Select the -$0.01 link in the pop-up.
- Select Start Tracking.
The service says it will email you when the selected price reaches the chosen threshold. Registration is optional for creating a watch, although an account makes it easier to manage watches centrally and import wish lists.

4. Honey Droplist: best for cross-store wish lists
Honey Droplist is useful if you save products from several supported retailers and want one place to watch them. Honey sends an email when it detects a price drop and can track a selected size, color, condition, or other variant.
How to add an item to Honey Droplist
- Open the product page at a participating retailer.
- Select the Honey h icon.
- In the Honey Tips window, select Add to Droplist.
- Choose the exact size, color, condition, or other variant.
- Select Save Item.
Manage saved products at My Stuff → Droplist. When adding an item from Honey’s website, an option to Track price at all available stores may appear.
Honey Droplist is not available on every site. The Honey button must appear for the retailer or product. More importantly, Honey says shipping, tax, handling, and other additional costs are not included in its price-drop calculation. A $10 alert therefore does not necessarily mean your delivered checkout total fell by $10.
5. ShopSavvy: best for barcode scanning and broad comparison
ShopSavvy is a strong fit for shoppers standing in a store who want to compare a shelf price with online offers. It supports keyword search, barcode scanning, price comparisons, price-history charts, watchlists, and price-drop alerts. Apps are available for iPhone, iPad, and Android, along with browser and desktop tools.
Depending on the product and settings, ShopSavvy can compare new, used, refurbished, and marketplace offers. Its current iOS documentation says users can separately enable used and refurbished prices, and that price-drop alerts follow the selected new, used, or refurbished chart settings. Recent updates also improve matching for different sizes, multipacks, regional editions, accessories, and genuine versus aftermarket parts.
Barcode scanning identifies a product, but it does not guarantee that every listing is the same package size, regional version, or condition. The lowest price may be for a used or refurbished item, a marketplace seller, or a different bundle. Product matching also depends on the information retailers provide. ShopSavvy’s recent release notes describe cases where retailer changes caused an offer page to return no results.
6. Slickdeals Deal Alerts: best for deal discovery
Slickdeals works differently from a conventional target-price tracker. Its community posts deals, and alerts notify you when a posted deal matches your criteria. That makes it useful for discovering discounts, promotions, and retailer events that a product-specific tracker might miss.

Alerts can arrive by email, private-message inbox, site notification, or mobile push notification.
Use a narrow phrase containing the exact model number, product name, or retailer. An alert for “laptop” or “TV” can be noisy because it may match many unrelated community-posted deals. Slickdeals does not continuously monitor every retailer’s product page, and a matching alert may still be above your personal maximum price.
7. BuyVia: best for local-store and category alerts
BuyVia combines online and local price comparison with product, category, keyword, and shopping alerts. You can set a desired price for a product, receive email or push notifications, and use the mobile app for local alerts when a nearby store has an item at the target price.
Its category alerts notify you when a new deal is posted in a category, while keyword alerts watch for a phrase. BuyVia’s App Store listing states that its sale alerts exclude Amazon, so it should not be treated as a complete Amazon-monitoring solution.

A price drop is not necessarily a lower checkout total
Shipping, tax, handling, coupons, membership discounts, and seller-specific charges can change the final amount. Google’s total-price information can include shipping, but the final shipping cost still depends on the retailer and destination. Honey explicitly excludes shipping, tax, handling, and other extras from its Droplist calculation.
A 30-day low does not predict the next price
Google explicitly says its 30-day-low feature does not predict future prices. Use it as historical context, not as a signal that a price is about to rise or fall.
The cheapest listing may not be comparable
Before buying, match the model number, size, color, quantity, condition, seller, warranty, and shipping terms. A marketplace listing, refurbished unit, Amazon Warehouse item, regional edition, or multipack can make the apparent “lowest price” misleading.

Alerts can be delayed or missed
Seller feeds may update slowly. Product pages can change, variants can become unavailable, and notification permissions can block alerts. ShopSavvy’s release notes even document fixes for cases where genuine price drops failed to trigger. Treat an alert as a prompt to verify the deal, not as a guarantee that the price is still live.
A practical setup for a typical shopper
- Start with Google Shopping for cross-retailer tracking and price insights.
- Add Keepa when an Amazon purchase is expensive enough to justify detailed historical research.
- Choose CamelCamelCamel instead if you want a simpler Amazon watch-and-email workflow.
- Use Honey Droplist for supported stores, but calculate the delivered total yourself.
- Use ShopSavvy when scanning a barcode or comparing new, used, and refurbished offers.
- Use Slickdeals for community deal discovery, with an exact model number when possible.
- Use BuyVia when local-store availability or category alerts matters more than Amazon coverage.
For a major purchase, use two layers: a tracker for historical context and the retailer’s checkout page for verification. Confirm the exact variant, seller, condition, shipping, tax, coupon, return policy, and final total before you pay.
FAQ
What is the best price-tracking tool in 2026?
Google Shopping is the best general starting point for most shoppers because it works across participating retailers and can provide target-price alerts and price insights. Keepa is better for detailed Amazon history, while ShopSavvy is better for barcode scanning.
Can price trackers show the final amount I will pay?
Not reliably in every case. Shipping, tax, handling, coupons, membership pricing, seller, condition, and location can affect checkout. Always verify the final total on the retailer’s page.
Is Keepa better than CamelCamelCamel?
Keepa is better for detailed analysis because it separates more offer types and includes additional charts. CamelCamelCamel is simpler and works well for basic Amazon price watches and email alerts.
Do price trackers automatically buy an item when it gets cheaper?
Generally, no. Google’s help page describes an optional “Buy for me with GPay” experience for some tracked products, but it requires confirmation of payment, shipping, and transaction details and is not available universally.
The Bottom Line
Bottom line: Start with Google Shopping if you want one convenient cross-store tracker. Add Keepa for Amazon price history, choose CamelCamelCamel for a simpler Amazon alert, and use ShopSavvy for barcode scans and condition comparisons. Honey, Slickdeals, and BuyVia each fill narrower roles. No matter which tool you use, compare the exact item and verify the final delivered total before buying.
